The Beer Scout Knife

Yes, it is mine. Oh we all get opinions. Just didn't want you to think there was a bait/switch or something. No Frankenstein, just a different shield on my two favorite slabs that they weren't going to make for themselves. I am a youth sponsor at church and can't show up with a "Beer Scout Knife" ;)
Even though I prefer the BSC, I do appreciate the fact that you took steps to make an alternative. Your scale choices are awesome.

Hey Mr. Paul. How do you go about removing the bail without damaging anything? Or am I just overthinking the process and it only took hand strength? :)

I just used a little piece of leather belt left over from a strop to protect the bail from the jaws of the plier...worked effortlessly.

Mike, I just want to say that you and GEC hit it out of the park with the Soda Scouts. Incredible choice of covers! I have the ivory bone and chestnut bone beer scout and I can already see from the pics on GEC's site that the micarta and red bone are going to be my favorites. Thanks again for coming up with a couple great SFOs!!!!!

The cocobolo Beer Scout has arrived!!

Great fit and finish. Pull on main is about a 5, caplifter about a 6. Great covers on my example. I am not sure if the bail will stay or not; adds bulk without much utility for me. Ivory bone on the way tomorrow.
thanks,
Brian

Man oh man that Coco. Wowzah. I'm so amped for the Micarta (it's my fav).

The blood reds and micarta look perfect to me just what I was I imagining, only better. I prefer the old scout shield, if gec used that shield on all versions I would be up to my neck in 15's.

They ALL look great to me. GECs blood red bone always turns out stunning, and this will be no exception. And I'm glad Mike gave the option of a non-beer shield.

A photo of convenience ...no caplifters required. Old meets New.

I thought I was going to get this one? Where's my caplifter?

(Thanks for the photo Old Hunter, hope you don't mind that I used it)

Seriously though, I only ordered 1 and it was the Red Bone Soda Scout but I am sure I will love it as much as I have with all of Mike's SFO's. It has been painful watching all these great looking Beer Scouts (I have always wanted a Tortoise shell) and waiting for mine. :grumpy::o

Just got mine! Testing phase is now commencing.

The saw cut bone on this is just stunning. And big thanks to collector knives for sizing the sleeve. Might bail carry it with this

Excellent pictures everyone. I'm SOOOO THIRSTY!!! I'm loving my chestnut sawcut and can't wait to get another variant. Just patiently waiting......

Hey guys, just got a stunning BS in Cocobolo scales. I was very excited until I tried to open the cap lifter.. holy cow the pull was dang near impossible. Actually bent my nail back. Anyone else have this issue?

My cap lifter is a bit heavy but not a nail breaker.
