Was this limited run "Beer Scout" prior to the mods by Evan?

No, my understanding (as per necessary corrections/clarifications earlier in this thread?) is that Evan/Esnyx produced his first.

My use of the word O-riginal as a descriptor earlier is to indicate that this was GEC's first-ever inclusion of a caplifter in their #15 Easy-open, Sheepsfoot-mained Scout pattern-- the direct predecessor of the current, factory-produced GEC Beer Scout/Scout-with-caplifter runs we're celebrating in this thread. :)

This picture makes me want it... Awesome grain on that jorjor.

Cant get enough of this one. The easy open notch aids in a great grip. The snap is great and pull is a little touch north of 5 on the blade and 7 on the tool. Already touched up the blade to shaving sharp and its ready to go.

I scuffed up the pile side but pictures will wait till tomorrow with better light. Didnt really change texture with the 120 I had on hand. Just dulled it and I kind of like it. Debating on making the entire knife matte.

Anyways, a shiny new pic :D

My Beer Scout's finally arrived. I really like the cocobolo a lot.

The chestnut saw cut bone arrived too. It's a beautiful looking knife, but not without a problem. The second photo shows a chip in the bone.

One of evens early beer scouts, knifebright production year 2013 modded mid 2014

No nickel bolsters and no brass liners/pins

Thought some of you folk might like to see a couple of early prototypes ;)

Shorts my father had from the 70's I found today while moving, figured them perfect as a backdrop for a soda scout photo.

Jake : I'm disappointed, in the Royale they firmly believe that British Navy men used to open bottles with their teeth!

Back when it had a cork they probably did. I doubt if it would have been worth the effort tho:D

Sorry Jolipapa, I think I missed the point of your post :o I guess that compared to eating hardtack, the bottle-caps would be easy! :D

Those knives were actually issued to the Army though, in the Far East (Burma), towards the end of WW2 :) Apologies for taking the thread off course :o

The beer scouts and soda scouts have all come through looking good. Many different variations and I like them all.

I think it's just a character mark if it's the mark just to the right of the pivot pin. Obviously your call though.

I have to agree, unless I'm missing it I'm just seeing what can occur with a natural product such as bone. Beautiful knives, enjoy!
