I just love every knife that tells its owner to oil the joints. Every darn one of them.
I'm also waiting too see someone's stripped down micarta covers. For the life of me I can't find any trace of weave even under a strong direct light. I'm assuming maybe a tightly woven dense piece of linen was used?-- Anyone have pictures of a scuffed (or otherwise addressed) micarta Beer Scout? From this distance, they look to be of similar (non)texture to the linen micarta used on the '13 Bladeforums Congress Jacks...? Any evidence of linen?
