The best EDC knife?

you'll hear these a lot

Benchmade Mini Griptilian
Spyderco Delica 4
Kershaw Leek

but you cannot deny the fact that they are awesome EDCs.

Delica/Endura. Everything you described except the extreme low-ride pocket clip.

If you could up your budget to $90, you can get a UKPK. If you can up it $10 more, you can get a Caly 3.

hmm.. i dont really like any of these new suggestions. i sorta want a straight blade with a belly and a rubber or g10 or any of those plastic/ rubber handles. I just dont want a full metal knife.

You might want to check out the Al-Mar Falcon or Eagle, linerless micarta handles and maybe the lightest knife out there, should be able to get around $70-$90, but no low ride clip and Al Mar is known for quality. The BM Griptilian and Endura/Delica have nested liners inside FRN handles, but the Kershaws mentioned typically have metal handles. You can also check out the Spyderco SALT line, same blade desgin as Endura/Delica but with H1 steel and linerless FRN handles. BM makes the PIKA series with plastic handles that is very affordable. And the Buck Bantam is the best bang for the buck on the EDC market, it and the V'nox Solo Sentinel and Gerber EZ-Out are all the plastic handled affordable ones I can think of and none of them are bad, but at the end of the day Spyderco and Benchmade are just a cut above the rest.

benchmade mini grip
spyderco delica
kershaw leek
boker clb trance
sog flash 1 or 2

youve heard most of em already tho :)

i carry a leek now, it's worked well for me these past 3-4 years. might be nice too if you can find a decently priced one you like.

Check out the Boker Gemini, it is a linerlock but has almost exactly that blade shape, very affordable and a nice knife. The Buck Bantam is the closest lockback to that drawing that I can think of.

This is a bit more then you want to spend but, very close to what you have shown above. One of my favorite carries when I want a discreet Carry or all around good knife.

Al Mar SERE or Mini SERE.

There can be found for 130 to 160 on the web.

Get a Kershaw Leek, or Scallion (more belly). . .then pick up a kydex 'necker' sheath. . .run ya 40 bucks.

Check out the benchmade pardue lightweight 530. It is very lightweight(1.8 ounces), plastic handle, good steel(154cm).

But if you want a lower ride clip i would check out the CRKT M16 series, particulary these two. They both have a very high clip that will barely show any of the knife, especially the second one, which I have owned. The second one is obviously much cheaper, as well as lighter.

I will vote for the Spyderco delica, then the BM Mini griptilian, then Kershaw Leek.

I love carrying my Spyderco Endura 4 (bigger version of Delica) everyday. For it's size it is a feather! I also like my BM 550 Griptillian (the bigger model). Neither will disappear in your pocket, but they have great blade steels and are light weight.

Hmm, a little tough, but doable. Your criteria I believe are:
$60 or less, lightweight, low-riding, & good steel.

"Good" steel is subjective, but I'd say anything 440C or better would fit that criteria considering the relatively low price point. I would not get a SOG Flash I, BTW, it's just too small. Having said that, I'd recommend one of the Bokers. Personally, I like the Trance for the $, but it's AUS 8 (I don't mind it, but it might not fit your idea of "good" steel), so I'd suggest the Hyper or M-Type, depending on the size you want. Both knives have 440C, lightweight, are low-riding, & are well under your budget.

If you don't mind some of the handle showing, I think the B/M mini or full size Grips are great for the $ & you can probably pick either size up in the F/S section of the Forum. They're lightweight & with 154CM, they definitely have "good" steel. You can always have STR make you a low-rider clip down the road (I happen to have an extra one for my Strider PT & it fits the Grip, so I know for a fact they work great).

Good luck.
