The Birth Of A Fighting Khukuri (UPDATE)

Joe, those are both awesome looking weapons!! Been thinking about getting a long bow, but its hard to give up my Bowtech compound! :)

I'm sure the handle combo Jason works up for you will very nicely done no doubt!!

Thanks Eric

If I where not on a white spacer kick I would have gotten the ghost color like yours

Speaking about spacers

Jason is going to give some option on spacer colors under the Black

Roger P

Are up next and in that order. Your blades are rough forged, so shoot me a pm on your spacer color choice.

Choices are

Black
Ghost
White
Red

Thx

Another shot of bow and slingshot. Just need the Khukuri now :)

Some bladesmiths make beautiful knives.
Some make very functional knives.
Only a handful make beautiful knives that are superbly functional.
Jason is at the top of that list!

Eric that is fantastic

I have asked that my spacer be white G10 with black Linen Micarta on top to match my Bow and slingshot :)

What a BADASS trio that will make Joe. I've never seen such an awesome looking slingshot. Is that custom made?

Peter

Jason, I have never liked Khuks but these I am absolutely in love with. Joe, I would love to hear more about what YOU define as features that make perfect blades for each style of blade; if you ever have the time. Keep up the great work!

We have plans to do a few more projects and as we go along I will try to convey what makes different blades great compared to average IMHO

Thx for the props man :)

With all this Khukuri talk I couldn't resist :)

Had Amex points to use plus Dwight's line drawings are worth the price of admission any day

Just think if the Gurkas would have been armed with Jason's Khukuri's the British might be serving in their military :)

Joe, pm on the way concerning the spacer.

This is SO lookin' good!

Bob

NIIIIICE!!! Two questions for you Joe. Is that a real live Brown Bobtail custom? Also, I notice the weight relief grind on the tang. Is Jason removing enough weight from the blade with the big hollow grind to where balance is an issue without the relief grind?

Joe the Brown's Eric's

Joe instead of tapered tangs Jason took the weight this way.

The difference between a great knife and a good knife is balance :)

Sweet pics and videos.

Basically you'd need to go to a full size felling axe to get more chopping power.
