The BK15 30 day EDC challenge

This is really a fantastic thread.

Your pictures are beautiful. You are so used to seeing those hills and valleys - I wish you could see them through my eyes.

Glad you stripped her. Better that way for food and all around if in constant use.

Congrats and thanks for your efforts! And good on ya James Terrio!

Thanks Eric!

Around here we do take it for granted a lot more than we should, but sometimes you just see a certain view and sit there in wonder.

Enjoying the thread and your learning curve.......been edc'ing a knife since 8 yrs old.

BTW what are the dimensions of your cabin?

Thanks! I've been enjoying it too.

Pretty sure it's a 12x20, that or a 12x24.

USE RECENTLY:

Just been doing normal EDC stuff. Cutting what needs cut.

CONCLUSION:

Still love it. Excellent knife.

Thanks again for this thread you've inspired me to carry my 17 more and by carrying it tucked in my front pocket makes it easy and keeps the prying eyes off, all these years I never thought to do that

Thanks for reading. I usually tuck it in like that at play practice. Not that I think anyone there would care about a knife, but y'know, maybe they would.

USE THE PAST COUPLE DAYS:

Been doing normal EDC stuff with it. Did some more patina on it.. Today I took it out clearing motorcycle trails. Batonned a tree down. Cleared a little brush. Chopped some small limbs off trees that were in the way. It chops surprisingly well for it's weight.

Some pics are good, others not so much. Not much light in the woods today. The pics from Tuesday are good though. A few random pics thrown in.

Look at how cleanly it cut into this tree when using a baton to go through.

Whittled out a crude toothpick per a request in the "what do you want to see the 15 do" thread. It picked teeth well. :D

Dug a hole big enough to put my fist in per a request in the "what do you want to see the 15 do" thread.

CONCLUSION:

Favorite knife right now. It does 95 percent of what I want it to, and the other 5 percent is unreasonable to expect from a knife of this size, so in other words, it's perfect for a medium woods knife.

Possibly a video coming up.

Good stuff bro! I had to dig a hole w/ my 15 once, lol. Was kinda a minor emergency and it's all I had. Did ok I guess, but that's not exactly what they're designed for :)

The pics you're taking are damn good! Where were you when these were taken?

That was pretty much the exact point of that request...

Dawson, you are really knocken'em out with this thread little brother. Fantastic job and great pics! Keep up the good work man and thank you!

Sorry if this has been asked already but are you just using an iPhone for your photos? They look great!

Thanks! I was surprised how how easy it was to dig with it. I think I'll stick to shovels though. :D

All pics are in western Virginia (not quite to the West Virginia line though).

I figured you were trying to be difficult. :D ;)

Thanks! I'll keep it coming.

No, a Nikon Coolpix S6800. Not a great camera, but it's all I need and it's small enough to stick in your pocket when you want to. Thanks!

Fun stuff, Nos! I still like checking in to see what the 15 is up to.

So, you say you carry it tucked into your front pocket? Depending on the sheath, I like to discretely carry by tucking the sheath into my rear pocket. That's how I carry my Magua regularly. My Mark 1 and my BK 17 both ride fairly well like that. It might be worth a shot if you want the front pocket real estate back.

Thanks Jerry!

Yep. Might try back pocket next time I do it, thanks!

Great pictures. Seeing those mountains really makes me miss the east coast. I grew up in southwestern PA for 26 years. Love those hills!!

Good stuff man! Those pics are awesome. This is making me want to get a 15 when the funds allow it.

I'm glad you're still using it for, well... as you said, cutting what needs cut. There's no better way to understand any knife, than to just use it a lot.

And I'm glad you're still loving it. I'm not one bit surprised. I have a sneaky suspicion that knife will never stray too far from your hands, no matter how many other knives you may have in the future... if I had to guess right now, I'd say you will likely keep that BK15 near and dear for many a year.

I agree completely! There's nothing better for knife users, knifemakers, and the whole knife industry than seeing youngsters use and enjoy good knives responsibly.
