Ok, Before we get started with the pics, lets talk a bit.. lol

So I for one am confused about this whole Bk16 First production run of saber grinds and that's it for ever thing.

I know for a fact that SMKW had first production roll stamp old coating with the First Production Run etch and Ethans sig. Then they ran out (twice) and got more in stock? How is that possible? HAHA.

But thats not why we are here.

We are here cause we were told that the BK16, new coating, laser etch logo, saber grind doesn't exist. Only full flat grind.

Well my friends, I am here to tell you that it Does Exist!!!

I bet you want me to prove it. Ok. But first let me explain how I got this proof.

My good friend Luke who has an awesome youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/TheOutdoorGearReview ) posted a video the other day and in it he showed his new Bk16.

I immediately knew something was different.

He was kind enough to send me some pictures of it so I could post for you guy's to check out.

If you were wondering, he purchased it off of that river store.

I Don't know what is up with this thing but I do have one serious question......

Where is mine Ka-Bar?!!!!!! I want one!! Not fair. Not Fair. Not Fair. HaHa

But for real, can anyone explain this? Is this just a mistake? Are there more out there? When can we get our's?
And you think we would have know about these slipping into peoples hands by now.....

And incase you were wondering, Yes, I tried ordering one from the exact same link he got his and guess what I got???

A dumb full flat grind one. lol Now I have three Full flat grind Bk16's. ugh.

Well enjoy fellas and hopefully Ethan and Ka-bar can chime in with some good news about how we all can receive our Saber 16.
 
My favorite grind that I'm hoping will find its way to the BK-11, 14. and 24. Now, what "river store" is that you speak of?
 
That's a nice one. I wouldn't mind one of those myself (after my daughter confiscated my 16, I need one to replace the one she stole ;))

Anyway, If you really want answers the questions, you could ask Toooj over at the KA-BAR forum. I'm sure he would chime in and tell us all about them.
 
I just linked it in the Toooj section so hopefully he can tell us what's up.

I really think this knife got mixed up in production and was a mistake. If not, I want to know how to get mine! haha
 
I've only seen one of those before in a SHOT show video...I know someone here ordered a regular 16 and randomly got an unetched, roll stamped one but this. Guess this happens from time to time :confused:.
 
Nice! I like this grind on the 16. Wish I had got one of the first production runs. I'm likin the combo!
 
If I had to guess, I'd say there was probably a little overlap between making old roll stamp, and the new laser etch, there are probably a few of these out floating around. He is a lucky SOB.

I have one of the few (3 or 4, that I know of) Unmolested saber 16s. I believe it was Jack, Derek and I. There are probably a few others floating around too though.
 
I have a roll stamped one that's not etched, and saber. I would love one with the new coating and the laser logo.

That is very surprising that anyone outside of KA-BAR had those. Toooj told me they weren't available and that I would have to shake down Old Man Becker to get one.
 
What a unique knife. Would love one of these but don't have my hopes up too high.
 
There is a bunch of blades coming over from China with all the big manufactures names on them. They are so close to the real thing you have to know what to look for to know it is a fake. BenchMade is getting hammered with warranty defect returns on fake BM knives that are being sold at gun shows. I'm betting this one is a fake too.
