The BK16 They Told You Did't Exist!!

I thought those sold out but I checked like a month ago and they are still available. What is going on? I admit to be part of the feeding frenzy when they came out and mine is tucked away in the box, bought a reg 16 to play with. So...they were not so limited after all?

well, let me put it this way...

if you take a FFG, strip it, and weigh it to 5 decimals of grams

and take a saber ground one, strip it, and weigh it to 5 decimals of grams..

if they are more than 2 grams different, i'd be surprised.

basically, not much difference. the spines are the same, and the "buttressing effect" isn't much different.

the FFG SHOULD slice better and have less drag, so less force to baton, so you'd see less need for strength

Perhaps the FFG is more slicey, but the saber still looks better, haha. It's sort of the BK2 mini me.

If that's your knife in the pic wooly that is a absolutely beautiful knife. The patina and the scales "just work" they mesh together so nicely. Im going to have to give mine a make over, mine is butt Alpha Sierra Sierra ugly in comparison.

Thanks brother. I go through a lot of knives in 'the quest' but this is one that I will pass on to my boy one day.

So...they were not so limited after all?

No, I believe the signature and the fact that they were available before the rest, at the time, is why they were/are referred to as "limited".

I agree completely. Again, I'd kiss a pig's butt if my ffg broke before my saber grind did. I don't notice that one batons better then the other. Besides, IMHO using a baton is more about technique then anything else. I just personally prefer the saber. Makes me feel stronger....ok! :D I was just confused as to why the new saber was so sought after given the first one is still available. It's not like a beckerhead is going to keep the coating anyway.
