The Blade Shop online store - any problems?

I just came accross this site, and see several problems people have had in the past (wish I had found this site sooner). As for you question if anyone is still having a problem, that would be a YES from me.

yes. they are crooks. stay away from Thebladeshop.com I'm still trying to get my money back from them on a transaction they continually failed to get out from November of 2008. they just give me the run around.

update. i finally got my money back from them after 2 mos of weekly calls and hassling them. it was a nightmare. they are a nightmare. I will wave everyone off from them as much as I can every chance I get. it's not worth it when there are far too many other good dealers online. I don't mind paying an extra $5/$10 dollars to get my fairness in a business transaction.

i ordered a couple of guns and knifes from eddies other company- tatical gun armory and did not recieve the merchandise and am now going to court to get the money he charged my credit card, it is said that he charged me in febuary for my merchandise, back orederd it and now refuses to credit back my credit card, i do not recommend doing any business with eddie lovedays business, the blade shop or tatical gun armory,
thanks steve k

The only reason I'm writing about this dealer is because everyone should know that there is a very good chance you'll get screwed if you deal with them.

I've read enough reviews to see that they take people's money quickly and from that point anything is possible. In my case they charged me for a knife that wasn't in stock and I'll be really surprised to see a refund ever. Why are these people still able to conduct business with the amount of unsatisfied customers they've gotten? I'll keep spreading the word until this company makes my order right. It's not even about the money at this point!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS DEALER!!!

THEY DON'T PRODUCE BUT STILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

This thread began in 2007. As far as I know, The Blade Shop was receiving bad feedback here as far back as 2005 or 2006.

If you'll look at the Hall of Shame section above, you'll see they were added .

hello salty,
i am assuming you had trouble with us in the past? Might i ask when?
I want to post this again from another thread so people will see it here.

My name is eddie loveday and i am the owner of the blade shop. I was browsing the forums and came across this thread and the older thread regarding us and some problems.
I wanted to explain and respond to some of the posts on here. First, let me start by apologizing to all that had trouble with us between december and january. We had unpredicted grown and were not able to keep our heads above water. I will not make excuses, because it is never alright to treat a customer that way.
For those who havent read the older thread, we were getting so many orders and phone calls that our phone lines were literally busy from open to close for over 2 months. I have more than doubled the amount of employees since that time to make things better. I think if you ask anyone who has ordered recently that any problems that we had during the holiday season have been resolved. I wont promise that we are perfect, but i will always try my best to make things beter and beter.

There are times that items are on backorder and customers should revieve an email letting them know if this is the case. I know this can be frustrating but please understand this is part of the knife industry.

My reason for posting on here is to let people know that we are still here, and we are here to stay. I know we had trouble but i have done everything in my power to remedy the problems, and i think we have done pretty well. I am getting ready to hire 2-3 more people just to get ready for this holiday season now, so we dont have a reapeat of last year.

I ask everyone to please keep an open mind and even if you are not willing to forgive us for the previous mistakes then at least please listen to people giving good respnses regarding us. Its not hit or miss. We ship over 300 knives per day and most of those are without any trouble what so ever. I cant help but notice(as is the always the case) that the only people who ever seem to post are the people who are upset, never the vast majority who have no problems.

I appreciate you reading my post and taking the time to listen to me(please forgive me if i babble on). If anyone here has a problem with their order they feel has not been resolved please let me know. I will continue to look in and read this thread to here what people have to say, or if anyone needs anythnig from me.

My goal is to please every customer and even when we fall short it doesnt mean we stop trying to improve.

Thanks,
eddie

tl;dr. i'll order my blades elsewhere and save myself the heartache so many others seem to have had.

The first sign that it's a bogus vendor is their "price match guarantee". I called to tell them that I'd found lower prices, and the person said he'd check into it and call me back. He never did. I placed an order anyway a few days later. The order was processed, then I received an email saying everything I ordered was on backorder. There was no indication of this on the website (unlike many vendors who tell you up front that something's not in stock). I called to cancel one of the items and get a refund. After 5 telephone calls ("You'll see the refund in 10-15 days", which is in itself ridiculous) over several weeks, no refund, and no clear indication of when the other items would be back in stock, I finally canceled the order and asked for a complete refund. I didn't receive the refund until I got my bank's representative to call them and tell them I was going to initiate a dispute. In short, a deceitful company and a pain in the ass. I also had to get a new credit card because I didn't want them to have my cc number!

Add me to list of ripped off people

:grumpy:I recently ordered a Sog from The Blade Shop online. My CC was charged right away, I received an email the next day saying the Sog was BO. I called and cancelled the order. The next day, a charge for the Sog showed up on my CC account. I called them and got the old 10-14 days bit, I've called every business day since, and now it has changed to it should it any day now. It has not.

I am doing or have done the following:
Filed a Knoxville Tenn. BBB report
Filed a FTC report online
Filed a RipOff report online
Filed a Consumer Complaint report online
Disputing CC charge with Visa (pain in the azz)

And still looking for more sites to file a complaint, I want to bring pressure to bear on these thieves.

I will retract the statement above with apologies if the CC credit appears on my account before I have to go through the "Dispute Charge" process with Visa. Which I doubt will happen.

See my post in thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...=645696&page=4 for my experience with The Blade Shop. Deal with your credit card company to dispute the charge. Mine gives the vendor days 30 from date of cancellation to credit your account. If the firm does not credit your account, you are relieved from your obligation to pay the charge.

I have had several conversations with "The Blade Shop" customer service. I am in the military currently oversees. I placed an order on april 15th. I was then notified that some items were on back order. but would be in by the end of the month. End of month came and still no items, i was given another expected date......Still no items. So I cancelled my order and was told my refund would take 10-14 BUSINESS days. So here i am 15days later with no refund, no product, no expected day that i will be refunded. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE TO ANYONE. I feel completely ripped off.

From what I have read here, and all over the interwebs. I am not buying from this site, it seems like most items are on back order. So I rather not risk losing $90+ for a kimura from their site.
