The blade Shop

The Bladeshop ripped me off last year. Charged my credit card for $200, never delivered the knife, never answered my emails and never refunded me. This is not an online retailer, it is a criminal enterprise.

Yes but too late. The bladeshop told me it would be refunded in 5 days and I was too trusting/stupid to check. My experiences had always been positive with online retailers and I guess I couldn't imagine that such a large scale scam could exist for so long. In fact the new issue of "Knives Illustrated" has a short article "Knives on the Net, Some sites you may want to check out" and to my dismay actually lists these crooks. Talk about not doing your homework. This doesn't speak well for this publication. What a Joke!

One of two possible scenarios about Knives Illustrated. Either they have accepted cash from The Blade Shop et.al and are just shilling for them, or like you said, they don't know what they're talking about. Google doesn't list a website for Knives Illustrated (magazine), so who knows.

I ordered a knife for my son's birthday in early August. The knife was shown on Blade Shop's page, with no indication that it was out of stock. The next day I received an email telling me that it was out of stock and back ordered. I canceled my order that day (remember that the knife was a gift). I waited the 14 business days they told me it would take to see a credit card refund, then filed with my credit card company. Still no refund. Need I say more?

I ordered a Spyderco Manix 2, with out reading the feedback, my mistake, anyway, after waiting a couple of weeks, I sent them an e-mail canceling my order, did not like the fact that they deducted from my bank account before shipping the knife. But I did not fully read their home page where it does say they would deduct at the time of the order. Anyway, after waiting a while, I called, about my credit, or not getting a reply e-mail and was told that orders could only be canceled over the phone. So I canceled my order. Called back a month later, and talked to Brandon, he stated that he did not see the credit but would resend it and it would take 2-3 days to show up in my account. Called back four days later and talked to Crystal, she stated that it had been submitted for credit. Called back four days later and asked to talk to a manager, he is in charge of the credit dept. and his name was Will, He stated that he would contact the company they use for their credit transactions. Called back Monday, and he stated that it was scheduled to be credited back to me and should be there in a few days. Today it showed up in my account. Okay, here is what I know, apparently there was some kind of split among the owners or some one bought them out and lawyers got involved and a lot of their assets were frozen, again this is just what I was told. All the people I dealt with were very nice and apologetic, I got the feeling that they were trying to do their best with a bad situation. Once I talked with Will, the situation moved quickly. Will I order from them again, probably not, unless they really make a big effort to get this mess turned around. Just wanted to present my situation to you all.

AVOID THE BLADE SHOP! They will take your order, charge your card right away, then you get an email out of stock, when you cancel, you never get credit back on credit card, check online for many many more complaints. If they were closer, I would pay them a visit with a couple of legbreakers with me.

I've begun the CC charge dispute, but it's a pain in the azz.

And I wish I had researched the company before I ordered, shame on me.

See my post in thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...=645696&page=4 for my experience with The Blade Shop. Deal with your credit card company to dispute the charge. Mine gives the vendor 30 days from date of order cancellation to credit your account. If the firm does not credit your account, you are relieved from your obligation to pay the charge.

i don't know about problems they had years ogo but they are not solved yet.same thing late 2009--ordered knife --charged instantly--2 weeks and a phone call later a backorder
notice--canceled order was told 10 days for credit to show--4 months and 10 phone calls later finally recieved money back.WE DO HAVE RECOURSE BLADE SHOP----WE JUST
DON'T BUY FROM YOU ANYMORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing happened to me placed a order on 1/5/2010 did not here a word from these crooks 1/11/2010 called to check on my order and guess what BACKORDER so I canceled my order Crystal told me she would take care of it, got my CC bill 2/12/2010 and no credit so I called The Blade Shop again Crystal had no explaination handed me off to Will(the owner I think) he told me he would take care of it, got me CC bill 3/12/2010 still no credit, call CC company told them the story they told me they would file a claim for my money. I called The Blade Shop 3/12/2010 and tried to talk with Will to find out what's going on but had no luck. I did a little checking with the Knoxville property tax department and found out The Blade Shop owes back property taxs 2008 and 2009 so it looks to me like these people are having money issues. SO BUYERS BEWARE OF THE BLADE SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not buy anything from these notorious scammers. They will take your money, ship you nothing, and string you along for months until can you longer dispute the charge through your credit card company. Google the "blade shop" and you will find many, many similar complaints.

Fortunately my credit card company reversed the charge to my card, and I filed fraud complaints with my credit card company, the US Postal Inspector, and the FTC, which was probably a point less exercise, but eventually someone might take some effective action.

yeah they got some really bad reviews i had the same problem as a lot of people i ordered an item that was not in stock but i didnt have any problem trying to cancel the order. customer service was easy to deal with so overall good job!
