I’m just going to be honest, but you did come off as a little “passive-aggressive” about the post count. If Spark shipped him a knife, it’s a done deal. The post count needn’t be mentioned by anyone here unless the intent is to ruin a good experience for a member. I won’t make assumptions about the intent of it, but let’s just drop it.

The pound shop? You guys have "pound shops" ??

I don't know why that surprises me.... we have "dollar stores" literally EVERYWHERE. You cannot drive through any little backwater town that doesn't even have traffic signs..... but they have a Dollar General store... maybe two....

We even used to have "99 cent Stores" I told people that's where I always went, 'cause those "dollar stores" were just too pricey for me....

I watched this film for the first time the other day,the subject matter was quite a surprise.

They mentioned those stores, I had never heard of them before.

I remember ours was called Kresge's 5 and 10!! A lot of cheap stuff; some pretty shoddy!!

We also used to have "five and tens" when I was growing up in the early 60s, though very few things sold there were actually priced at 5c and 10c. Woolworth's was the one I remember the most.

Yes.... we had T G & Y where I grew up.... technically a 5 cent to 1 dollar store, though... good old memories...

Charlie, that was a trip I made to South Africa almost 13 years ago. I saved for a long time and it was worth every penny. Probably my favorite photo from the trip.

If that was in Australia the 3.10 to Yuma would be running approximately 5 minutes late due to trackwork....at 3.15 the 3.10 to Yuma has been delayed due to meako derailing the thread and has now been replaced by a coach service ...passengers are advised that lengthy delays and confusing announcements will follow ...we apologise for any inconvenience.

Don’t clocks in Australia work like toilets And go backwards??? So the 3:10 running late would arrive at 3:05

My hometown still has its original five and dime store. It's called Foys. It's being run by the 3rd generation of Foy's. It originally opened around 1914. I went to school with the guy running it now.

He's been able to keep it in business 1st as a huge Halloween store and 2nd by pure nostalgia...
