Have you tried clearing your browsing history and cookies? It may be "storing" in a cookie the fact that you closed the ordering banner.

I was just trying to help another member figure out to see if they accidentally closed the announcement, and if it could be restored.

So I closed the announcement, and now and just trying to see if there is a way to restore it just out of curiosity.

Cleared my browser and cookies as well. I think it's likely for iPhone Safari users that once you close the announcement box, it would need to be reloaded again by staff.

Jason, if you don’t get a serial number you like, you can just make your own identical knife and number it however you want.

Then I am not a true forum member,unlike others I wont rush to take out a gold membership,that seems very wrong/hypocritical to me.

Unless I am missing something, is the forum short of money and this is a way to raise it?

On the motorbike forums if the admins ever say they are short we just chip in for no reward.

You’re a true true member. I enjoy your daily posts in the Traditional forum and I know you really enjoy your 2021 BF knife. I don’t think anyone would hold it against you if you upped your membership for this. I think the point was just to give some incentive for people to get a gold membership, but that’s up to you.

Does anyone know where and how the serial numbers will be applied?

And if you don't know and want to guess , feel free to take a stab at it.

I don’t know for sure how they will do them on these, but in the past, serialized GECs have had the number engraved on the mark side bolster.

Thanks, I tried that and it does work as long as I don't log in.

This is good data to know in case a member accidentally closes an announcement.

Open your Account panel, choose Preferences, scroll down and there is an option for "Restore dismissed notices". That should get it back.
