The Bladerunr:Trade gone Bad??

You're a good guy Jon and nothing but a class act. I was talking with another member about this a short while back... and that is what makes an upstanding and established member turn like this? (If that is in fact the case here).

There could be many legitimate reasons why this situation looks bad but may actually be not. And I definitely understand giving someone the benefit of the doubt. But his response should have been something that sets your mind at ease, not something that confirms your fears about the transaction. Things do happen, yes, but his response, like keeping up his side of the deal thus far, leaves much to be desired.

I hope thebladerunr makes it right with you.

I hate to say it but Its not looking good for any of us.David hasn't logged in for a few days now and I don't think he will again. He obviously doesn't care about his rep here so he probably just left.I've been to the Jerzee Devil and told my story there as well so he is black marked there as well. He's not a member of the USN, and I haven't looked on Knife Forums, but I will.

I just don't understand why a longtime member of the knife community would BlackMark himself like this.

As I said before, this person has shown no respect for you or your property (or pittsteele's). I can empathize with your situation because it happened to me a few months ago. I also know who you are; I know you're a good guy. It truly sucks to engage in a trade with somebody under an assumption of trust, hold up your end of the deal faithfully, and then later learn that they are this self-centered and irresponsible. It's perfectly understandable that somebody gets in over their head with purchases or trades, or is slow to reciprocate the trade, etc...but there's no excuse for not communicating such problems to the other party and working toward a resolution. This person, after all, has your property in his possession and may not return it. This is theft, pure and simple.

In my case, I was in communication with another BF member who was scammed by the same party and we joined forces. I basically conceded to myself that my property was gone and I wasn't going to get it back, but I was determined to prosecute this person on principle alone. Once he understood that we were serious (we contacted his family and tracked down his address and phone number), he yielded, compensating me for my property plus shipping costs. To be honest, I didn't even care about the money anymore. I just wanted him prosecuted.

If I were you, I'd team up with pittsteele and contact the authorities. Try to convince them that this person is engaged in mail fraud, theft, whatever. Two instances is much more damning than one. If you can at least get the police to pay him a visit they may be able to take possession of your knives and you could work with them to have them returned.

Thank you for the kind words Bryan.I've been involved in over 60 transactions here and never once had an issue with a member. This person(Bladerunr) has been a member for 10 years, I thoought I could trust him...I mean is it to the point where it doesn't matter how long a person has been a member, is a paying member and has many positive feedbacks.

This kind of situation frightens mean because it shows that no matter how trustworthy someone appears you just never know.I mean how do you decide to trust anyone when even a Gold Member in good standing is a scammer and thief?

Like you stated above I am fully aware I will never seen my knife again I just want justice. Its actually 3 people this guy is currently stealing from.Myself, Pittsteele, and ZackFraser. We will not stop untill something is done. This person is a lowdown dirty thief.

Don't let this bad trade put you in that mindframe. Most of us work hard for our solid feedback/reputation. I don't put much trust in a payed membership (it looks good, but anybody with $25 can get one), but I put a lot of faith in the iTrader system, and the individual's feedback. Speaking of memberships, I guess it's time I pony up the cash for Gold myself...

He just posted a for sale thread on the USN...

Thank you,,I just left a post on that thread warning others. He has the HD7 promised ZackFraser up for trade in that thread

I also sent him an email stating that I had informed the Postal Inspector and would be contacting the police about his Scam and thievery.

He replied simply "Git er Done"

what a prick.

Hi Bladerunr...I see you're reading this thread. I filed a police report in Bullhead City today, and a claim with the postal inspector yesterday. I plan on pressing any and all charges, even if I have to fly all the way to AZ.

Way to go you sent mine to the wrong address, could you not read it off my package, or the email I TYPED to you. I'm never seeing my knife again...awesome.

Well all this pressure has finally done something I actually recieved a DC# from him, and zack he showed me a scanned picture of your DC# reciept. If he has not sent it to you already email me and I will give it to you.

I cannot say for sure if its our knives(HD7, HD12)or the knives we sent him, and I sincerely hope if it is our knives they are not damaged.

I will keep this thread updated for sure.

I see that you took no action whatsoever until you were threatened with serious legal action like mail fraud and a visit from your local police. In fact, at one point you threatened to keep his knife without fulfilling your end of the bargin. Not sure what happened but you've offered no explanation at all. Personally, I wouldn't deal with you ever and I would stringly caution any others from dealing with you also. What happened? Care to explain?

I see the scan, but he is sending mine to the wrong address, so in all likelihood he'll get my knife back as undeliverable. Epic fail. Off to google to see if that address exists.

I am so sorry bro. This will work out for you, he can stop postage on it and send it to the right address.

David, please stop payment on my knife. I will paypal you the money to have it sent express with signature confirmation.

Hope you guys get everything worked out. Please do leave appropriate feedback. I can personally say Mr. Baker was one of the nicest, most trusting bladeforums members I've dealt with. I don't know the time frame on this transaction but claiming he had an attitude seems far fetched.
