The Bose "BackPocket" Knife

Adam, this was my solution for carrying a knife in my back pocket, keeping it vertical and from putting a hole in my jeans. YMMV.

I think this post is germane to this issue:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've seen many references to Schrade LB7s and Buck 110s as being too heavy for pocket carry. I disagree because I own many so-called "heavy knives" and pocket carry one daily with no problem. The way I do it is in my back pocket. I've always found this way the most comfortable but sometimes when I got up I'd find my knife came out of my pocket. I also didn't like how the knife would move around and sometimes wind up horizontal. I preferred carrying this way but it wasn't perfect...until I came up with this mod:

On almost every pair of shorts and jeans I own I've hade a seam sewn on my right back pocket that is just a bit wider than my widest knife. The picture I've included is a pair of old work shorks so the thread is black...I usually get a thread that matches the material exactly so this mod isn't noticable but these are just work shorts so I didn't care about the contrast. My wife sewed this for me on the sewing machine but most of the others I did myself with a needle and thread. It takes me about 10 minutes to do this. Since I've been carrying with this method I've never had a knife fall out of my pocket. This mod is also good for a thin flashlight or other similar tool.

What's the steel on those two, George?
(The stag is sweet!)

Sheila, that's one my favorite BPs and I'm glad to see it went to one of my favorite people here on BF. George, that's a great lineup you have.

Here is a back pocket modeled after a Tony Bose pattern that I just built. Sorry not for sale.
