The Buck you want most of all......

It was a Cabelas AG Vanguard. That one is now resting in the gun safe, waiting for deer season to arrive. Now, it's a short Nighthawk, non-serrated. Seem like it would be an ideal camping and woods walking knife. Hard to find, tho. Anybody willing to part with one?

Jeff

The original 122 Nemo with correct sheath, box and papers. I'm not holding my breath! :o

I'd settle for the correct sheath....:)....

Was that on the bay? I missed it, missed seeing it that is. Couldn't have bought it if I wanted to. Does anyone have a link to it? I did a search on the bay but couldn't find it, even when selecting "completed listings"........or, maybe it wan't on the bay but elsewhere?

The pic doesn't show the whole knife...What exactly is the 122??? A 124 blade with a 120 grip???
Trax, This thread, from several months ago, contains lots of info on the 122. The members here were kind enough to tell me what I had found..... Buck 122/124

Here is pic of the entire knife and sheath (124 sheath). I've posted this previously, maybe I'll make this shot my avatar, my dog, Champ, is camera shy...:o

Thanks for finding the link for me on the bay. That's the sheath that would go with my Nemo box and knife, otherwise I have a 124 Frontiersman, with a Nemo box.....Mike

Mike - My 124 Frontiersman has a flat full tang + 2-piece riveted grip. Yours seems to have the 1-piece pinned grip. I'm guessing that is what the difference between the 122 and 124 is, since they both seem to have the same [124] blade... :)

Trax, If my limited info is correct, the 122 & 124 were both available like mine with the phenolic handle, and later, like yours with the micarta and pins.

From 1967 through 1970 the knives had the hidden tang, black phenolic handle and then in 1970 was offered with the Micarta exposed tang, like yours. I think the Nemo/122 was discontinued in '72-'73 (LE's excepted of course).

The 122 & 124 were the same knife, marketed as the Nemo Dive Knife, and the Frontiersman. The sheaths and the box were the only difference between the two.

Those more informed are welcome to make any necessary corrections .....Mike

I'd love to have a 560 with a BG-42 blade.

They're out there! I was fortunate enough to get one from a Forum member here. :)

As long as the Forum knows you want one...Who knows??? Someone here may even have one for sale... ;)

A Bucks wanted thread [ like what did you cut today] might be a easy way to network..The thread would always be around the first page or two..
