The Case Barlow is BACK

My CV Barlow came in earlier today also. I'm really liking it and Case did a great job on them in my opinion. I'm really loving how the bone took the dye. I took a couple pics for you guys, but there are so many mirrored surfaces it was hard to get a good one.

Nice! I've been wondering if they actually stamp the bolsters like in the olden days, or are they etched or milled/engraved. Can you tell?

I'm heading out right now so I can't get a good picture, but I'm fairly sure they are milled/engraved. When I used the optical zoom, I think I could make out some tooling marks on the "E". I'll try to get a good shot when I get home.

Thanks. That's almost as good as a real stamping.:thumbsup:

There is a bit of glare on the bolster, but this captures the bone well.

Those look great guys! I think they look better than the photos. I think mine will get a dye job to see if I can somewhat imitate that old red bone look. I can't help myself sometimes :D

How the walk and talk? Half stops?

Walk and talk is great. The centering of the main blade on mine could be a bit better, but other than that it has the best fit and finish of any of my Case knives, including a damascus trapper I paid ~$140 for. There's not a single gap to be found on the entire knife and Case did a fantastic job on the pins. It does have a half stop (hooray!). I would agree that the pull is about a four. I would have preferred a five or maybe six, but no complaints here. This knife is an incredible deal.

It's a bit dark now, but I'll try to get some more shots up tomorrow.

Excited for this knife! Can't wait to see some more pics! Case has done a great job reintroducing this pattern. Some I didn't like so much. (Barlows with shields) But the others to me have looked great!

Liking the Brown Sawcut pics posted so far! Mine was delivered yesterday, but I won't get to see it until tomorrow when we get back from a wedding trip. Looking forward to posting a pic or two.

I agree, the quality to cost ratio on these is very favorable. I’m very impressed with this knife and the single blade Appaloosa bone single clip blade Case barlow I purchased recently.

Blades are well centered on both my knives also, I hope that is a trend we continue to see going forward.

Mine arrived today... a two month wait. All in all, it was well worth it. Case did a really nice job on mine. CV steel, brown sawcut...
I had never noticed, just always assumed the saw cuts would match. Mine don't. One side goes long ways, the other side goes sideways. Character....
Not the greatest photos, but you get the idea...

Interesting covers on that one, looks like you got sawcut on one side and winterbottom on the other. o_O
Oddly enough I like the mark side more, it would be great to have that as an option, the same on both sides of course.

I've only seen pics of one sample of winterbottom, and it didn't look like this. I had never even heard of it before your post... what is it about my knife that makes you say it's winterbottom? Just curious.
