Thanks Ben! Quench just went well! ...Anytime I make it through without burning any limbs off... :D

Good to hear about the projects and guitars everyone!

Ah, I forgot! Yes, please show Ben tha wonderful design, Daniel!
And, I sent you a nekker/EDC design, in Ti. Ben saw it.

Yo Daniel, have you show your Kwaiken design in public yet?

Hey Ben!

Yes I have, is was a big hit at Cool Knives and Gear as it made the Banner for a few days... my friend who runs the group page there is a designer for Spyderco and really likes the design too. He has also inspired me to work on some smaller folder designs and the new Nakago will be one of them.

I'll go look for the pic, it is on my other computer. I'm still doing heat treat! :D

fact of the day - a dry ice burn will not cancel out a burn from a hot knife.... what the heck! I'm heat treating one of my fingers for maximum wear resistance.

Morning guys,

Xander, I have heard of Timney but I actually never used one so I got not input other than what the interwebz says. I'm more familiar with putting together AR variants. I am deciding on whether to build a bolt action 308 or just do an ar-10 style 308 for hitting steel.

Also, hopped back on my sewing machine the other day and cranked out a rough watch strap and a pen/utility case. I really need to step up my machine to maybe a sailrite ultrafeed so I can stitch easily through all the canvas layers I'm trying to do.

I know and trust Timney triggers, bolt gun or AR. Dayton Traister has been around for a while but I have gotten some opinions that they are inferior to Timney and the same price. It works out to about $30 more to rebuild my bolt and buy a new Timney trigger, as DT is the only maker left of the parts I need for my gun.

I'm not a big fan of the .308/7.62x54 nato. I prefer long actions and the .30-'06 for seating heavier bullets longer and more powder behind them. I want to build a LR308 pattern soon, but in .243Win or 6brx. But first is to finish up my current projects. Need a couple of scopes for my 1917 and my .20 Practical, then get my 1917 rebarreled, bolt rebuilt, new trigger, and new furniture then followed by a refinish.

Afternoon fellas!

Fishing today was nearly a bust, huge ebb tide and over 100° heat turned the bite off pretty quick. Dad and I only caught a couple of gills, but they were decent size. So we headed back to my place and I reworked the chamber on his M4 clone upper. It was having issues with ejection and even stuck cases that had to be hammered out. It's chamber was rough and nasty looking, but now shines bright like a mirror! Even taught dad a trick or two about working a chamber over.

Hope y'all are making it great!

When you have a chance please type from the other computer! :D Has everyone seen it already?

It's gonna be good, I just know it!! ;) :D

I have a dozen blades in progress for these... I have literally been grinding them until my fingers are worn through. They are thin and hard to hold!

These have been delayed because I still need to work out my process for the 10V. At 63 or so RC they get tricky to work on... I always prep, heat treat, grind flat again then do the bevels on folders so I need to do more thinking on the blades. Or get some other steel...

I forgot I was on BF and not WUS, looking for the like button for the kwaiken lol

:D Thanks!

Lookin good D. You'll get it down!

I think I'm going to send in some tester blades for heat treat so I can get them going faster... (btw 100% of heat treat is currently done in house... these have to go to around 2300f to harden the way I want them to... that's hot!) Much appreciated!

I'm about to go pull everything out of the kiln after cooling overnight... the RF2 blades came out so straight they all stick together like magnets.

The smaller A2 blades are really cool, all are 1/2" tall so nice and slender. One will be a Kogotana in my style and also another Kogotana with a Kozuka style handle.

The Kozuka (handle) will either be made from an alloy I will pour or it will be one of those in the hidden style... like a box lid or the likes. I'm not really sure how to describe this but if you are familiar with the way the are hidden in a Katana Saya (scabbard) imagine a box lid instead of the Saya. :D

I like it, very much! Take your time and you will get it done!! Thanks for the pic, btw!

Wow..so much going on,, can't wait!!

The more I look it the more I like. I wonder how the blade looks like?

Regardless how the blade looks like, I'M IN PLEASE!! ;)

Thanks! The blade will look just like the one on the business card... the blade in the knife is tester blade that is a wacky shape. I'm going to do a tall double grind with a rounded spine.

Yo!

Another working weekend for me. Dove season opens on Tuesday! Can't wait!

Y'all make it great!
