Anyone have this current 81 and the 86 HJ to hand for comparison pics?

I can get a pic when I get home. They are very different patterns.

For sure but it’s the clip blade I’m interested in comparing really, soooo many different clip shapes from one maker and ALL with the same blade pattern number -1.
Just find it interesting as they’re both CC/Waynorth and kinda sorta roughly the same lengths ?? I’m sure Charlie has a favourite “silhouette”?

one just refers to clip. but if you are curious, the 86 typically has a big broad clip. although several patterns share blades, these two do not.

Seems to be some subtle angle changes in there too, like the 14 15 39 and from what I can see in photos the 77, all have nice similar profiles, they look to have steeper peeks??

yes, the 86 has more belly, by appearance the 81 is a bit narrower. but again, the 86 is a wider knife if such a term may apply, so its blade well allows for a different clip profile.
