Wildcat, decided to give it a try today, used a Buck 118 for a filet knife. I will probably stick with my Buck 121 in the future but the 118 can do the job. I caught this Speck last night, going to cook it in a few minutes. OH

Spend some time and find a Buck 121 Fisherman without the date stamp on it (if you want to use it for a filet knife). The blade got thicker and thicker over the years - today the Buck 121 Guide is essentially a longer 105. Tip-down three-lines and earlier are the thinnest. Tip-up three-lines are in the middle of blade thickness, while those with date stamps have the thickest blades. OH
