The ESKABAR is here!

Is this coming out of E.S.E.E. or Becker or both? Is it ESEE heat treat with 1095? Either way, I want one!

... there is 2 logos on this awesome creation, ESEE and Becker/Kabar. Randall Adventure/ESEE on the right side, Becker/Kabar on the other. This is a knife that bears the name of 3 great manufacturers/designers and has alot to live up to.

Collaboration! :)

afaik:

o KaBar is making it. that's why it's over in this forum ;) yeah, those ESEE guys do go on :) Becker / ESEE collaboration. it's their love child.

o KaBar's choice of steel (see FAQ)

o KaBar's choice heat treat

o KaBar's Sheath, box, packaging, etc, etc. But their sheath clip, or not.

o if you want micarta, you'll buy ESEE's (handle obviously), trim with a razor blade a little (slight variance from the ESEE handles), voila.

I've got an order in at Rocky national, their website indicates they're in stock.Guess I should check the mail.

UPS Ground delivered mine this morning from Rocky National!

I predict the eventual demise of the BK-11 :(.

Because once you've wrapped your digits around both, you will buy the Eskabar BK-14 over the Necker BK-11 99 times out of 100.

Not sure everyone who reads this will understand that I am glad that I had previously purchased the BK-11. If it eventually fades out of production, I'm glad I have one.

I am just even more happy with the Eskabar.

brown santa was kind and i got my Eskabars this week.

just noticed the first one showing up on THAT auction site... pretty soon, all the vendors should have them, and there should be lots...

i hope ESEE has a good supply of micarta...

i also hope i see some good EDC sheaths come along.

this knife is a sure winner for everyone involved.

Just got mine today. I'm a little torn about it,the handle is long enough, but feels too skinny in my hands. I think the BK11 and BK14 would both benefit from fitted handle slabs.

Try an Izula paracord wrap, there are tons of cool wraps in the ESEE forum, remember, search is your friend. I found the one I wanted, took 15 min to wrap, now it feels more robust, for sure. Moose

Will the Izula canvas micarta scales fit the Eskabar?

10 minutes of trimming and yes

a lucky dude :) [sneaking pictures by PropThePolecat]

see this thread for details / etc on the handle sizing and scales and stuff...

Basicsily Toooj says '''You are correct. The Rowen Izula handles will not fit on the BK14 handle. The esteemed Mr. Becker wanted a bit more width on the handle struts and the opening is smaller than the Izula. When we were developing the BK14, the Izula Micarta handles were not out yet.

If one takes the Rowen Micarta handles and shaves down the edges with a file or exacto knife, they will fit. If there is a lot of teeth knashing and chest beating, we can change.'''

Thanks again, Bladite.

Right now, I'm just torn between the BK2 and the BK14. The BK2 would fill a niche. The BK14, not so much.

I received my BK14 the other day and have already cord wrapped the handle. I haven't seen many pics with it compared to an Izula so I figured I would post it up next to one as well as a Buck Paklite. Love the blade but the sheath needs some help, though it wont pop out it does rattle in the sheath, needs to be a bit tighter imo. For the price I cant complain though and can always pick up another kydex sheath.
