Shortly after I certified as an EMT beck in 1990, I tried to learn ASL after we had a wreck where everyone in the car was hearing impaired and all comms had to be written out. My instructor told me my hands were too fat, my fingers too short and my coordination sucked. He said I signed like a skunk. (I stunk).

He got a 32 gun in his pocket for fun....He got a razor.... in his shoe..

That actually doesn't mean anything. I've got fat little hands. However my fingers are actually pretty dexterous since I've been doing this for so long. Now a days it's a lot different for first responders since the invention of the smart phone. If they have an android or an iPhone they most likely will have either Purple, ZVRS, or NTouch on their phone which is a video relay company who will interpret over the phone for you.

I dont work in the am but Im getting tired
^Ditto, although I have to go to work and do paper work.

Im a first responder and I have never heard anything about this. I know we have translations of all sorts available at the hospital but in the field we are pretty much screwed.
