The final Snarkdown!

Sometimes when I decide or tell somebody I'll buy something, and change my mind I'll buy it anyway, even if I know I might never use it. I sure as hell hate when that happens to me so I try not to do it to others.
Done that myself...karma's a bitch, as they say....I do my best not to anger her.

It sure is. I'm not in a position to blacklist anyone, and I don't feel compelled to shame anyone... but a certain someone will certainly not be getting the BH rate/discount again. I'll be happy to do business with him at full retail price, of course.

there's a THK BH discount?!?
I need to start selling plasma....... :D

I do feel very fortunate that I don't really have problems selling my knives even if it may not be exactly when I want. I have a lot of you guys to thank for that. As far as members here on BF, I cant say I never had problems But, honestly these 4 today where all orders from the ol interweb. Even if they where however, I have a real problem with name dragging. I know that GBU is for that, But I hate to make a bad situation worse. Nobodies ever bitched about me on there (at least not to my knowledge) Id hate to resort to tattle telling. Id much rather just knock on there door and .....talk....... about it man to man....or woman. Usually, if I got a problem with someone I don't make it a secret to them. I guess I expect the same courtesy from them.

People that back out of knife deals should be blacklisted by all makers, custom or otherwise.
If you can't keep your word, you shouldn't order a knife. It's that simple.

Todd, you should let them know they have a week to respond to the original emails, or you're selling the knives.
You might indicate that your knives are in demand, and you cannot hold knives for people who do not communicate or who do not pay their bills.

My two cents anyway.

Just to add...

As for the folks who backed out? I would let them know (politely) that they should not bother ordering another knife without paying in full up front.

I agree with Guyon.

Especially if they are BF members, in my opinion a thread should be started about customers who back out of a deal. If nothing else, it would inform other custom makers, and maybe help them be aware of members with such tendencies.

If I ever order a knife from a maker, it is an obligation on my part to purchase said knife. If I feel that money may become tight, you betcherass I will pay off that knife or sell something else to get the money. When it comes down to it, our word is our bond.

Anybody who backs out of that bond should experience some sort of ostracization for such behavior.

I can't imagine how frustrating that would be, especially when a person counts on those orders to pay the bills.:thumbdn:

I have a few ideas for you Todd concerning future orders, but to offer them up at this point would not be proper. I'm sorry you are having troubles with orders.

Also, I have every bit of confidence in your work that if you finished the knives to (now) your wants, then you would not have a problem selling them. Good luck

Very nice ones!

Man there needs to be an easy way to change the background of a picture. I spent over an hour making this background, trying to keep the shadows of the blade and the lanyard without the effect changing the colors in the knife or the log.

WW, you need an iPad. Everyone that has one becomes a creative genius the moment they turn it on. At least that's what the ads imply. ;)

Or, you could try googling some tutorials called "you suck at photoshop". Despite the name, they're supposed to be really good video tutorials.

Yes I really do need a good photo editor and some tutorials as well. Ill look into some now!

I go to bed late and last night I heard foot steps, I figure I would shut everything down and head to bed only to find my son in the dark in my room behind one of the double doors just standing there, I asked him what he was doing and he simply just ran back into his room in a reverse motion, like rewinding a movie while its playing... I dunno what's going on but that was the wierdest thing I have ever seen... Yesterday morning he woke up with scratch marks on his face... Not sure what to think of all this...

... Not sure what to think of all this...

I once had a roommate who would sleepwalk and do all manner of bizarre stuff, including making a snack and leaving it on the counter, having partial nonsense conversations with himself and others and wandering back to his room mid-sentence, just generally creepy stuff. Nothing ever destructive or violent. Never remembered a bit of it. He was totally straight-edge BTW... definitely not drunk or high. *shrug*

It may be nothing, or it may not; I have no idea. I would certainly keep an eye on the little guy.

Several months back my daughter had a phase where she would get up and sleep walk even making her way down stairs one time and was about to pour milk on the floor as if she was holding a cup but had no cup in her hand. I asked her what she was doing and then went to pick her up to take her back to bed and she came to and was scared, she didnt know how she got out of bed. This lasted a week or so, maybe 5 or 6 episodes that one being the biggest episode the other times she just walked out her room and would stand staring at the wall, it would freak me out but after that week or so it hasnt happened another time. We asked the kids doctor and he said its not too unusual for kids to go through a phase of this at one point or another and we shouldnt worry unless it keeps coming back and happening. But we did add locks on the main doors too high for her to reach so she couldnt accidentally get outside.

Maybe its just a phase, id keep your eyes open, maybe add a bell on his door handle so you hear it if he comes out again at night.

That swamp rat is growing on me WW. The first time I saw it I though it looked ridiclious...
