That's a hard one to pass up too. Someone is going to get a serious deal on that one!

I can't believe they are both still listed. Those are both a great opportunity for somebody. I was going to pick up the Bushcrafter but then I saw the Kephart later in the evening.

Probably not the right place to post this but here goes anyway.
Bummed about missing out on a very nice looking 3/32" thick hiking buddy.
I would love to see some of the 3" models (hiking buddy and bushraptor in particular) in this blade thickness (maybe even some 4" models).
But 3/32" thick blades seem to be very rare and never stick around in the flea market, on fiddleback friday, or on the dealer sites (pretty much the same phenomenon exists with fiddlebacks in CPM 154 also).
The demand seems to be there, so is the issue the availability of the blade stock, the difficulty in grinding, something else, or am I just imagining Andy could sell a lot more of these?

Yeah I was bummed too, my WTB 3/32's posts did me no good, haha. I would have paid him $100 more than his price if he'd have PMd me.

it doesnt come very often because its easy to have it warp during heat treat
tapering & grinding is much harder too

I regret not buying it too. I got the notification on my phone and should have pulled the trigger but didn't. To make up for it I couldn't let that Sapphire Bushcrafter sit there any longer. I love BC's and shadetree, I'm happy again.

I did the same thing, I made up for it by buying a 3/32 WA surls Palmer.

Do bladeforums exchange rules apply to the flea market?

Yes. To save some typing, here's some copy/paste:

A reminder of the Fiddleback Flea Market Rules

These are the rules and come straight from the Rules For The Exchange & Discussion Forums - (All Rules Apply Site-Wide) UPDATED 3/1/14

PLATINUM or GOLD - Platinum or Gold members are allowed to post in any of the Individual For Sale or Trade forums. They may sell items in the For Sale By Individuals, and can list items for Trade as well.

BASIC MEMBERS - Basic members are not allowed to post items for sale. You may post items for Trade in the Wanted To Trade Forums, or post requests for items to purchase in the Wanted To Buy Forums.

REGISTERED USERS - The first level of membership. If you have not purchased a paid subscription, you are by default a Registered User. As such, you are very limited to posting areas in the Exchange. You may respond to threads where you mean to purchase an item, or trade. You are not allowed to create threads for Selling or Trading (but you may respond to existing ads). You do have the ability to create WTB threads.

Based on this:

Everyone including Registered Users can buy. Registered Users can post a Want to Buy. Registered Users cannot offer items for Sale or for Trade. So posts like "I have a Bushfinger that I'm willing to trade" are off limits for Registered Users unless they are responding to a specific Want to Trade post by a Basic or above user. GoldUser posts "I have a Kephart I want to trade and am looking for a Bushfinger". RegisteredUser responds with "I have a Bushfinger you might like for that Kephart" is OK.

Basic Members can post Items for Trade but not for sale.

Gold and above can post Items for Sale.

The Flea Market here in the Fiddleback Forums is to be considered part of the exchange and all the exchange rules apply. With the additional rule:

"The buying and selling of Fiddleback items is allowed in THIS FORUM only under the Fiddleback Flea market which Andy is allowed to do since he has paid for it. Anything for sale outside of Fiddleback items is to be listed in The Exchange. There will be no exceptions to this rule."
