The Flea Market Mung Absolution Thread

One thing I can't stand as a seller is when a potential buyer says "what's your best price." Ma'f*cker, my best price is the one I sell it for. Now make me an offer or get off the pot. I feel like saying go pound sand. Sometimes I say I don't know - feel free to make me an offer. Sometimes I say nothing. /rant

Apart from this the most annoying thing is when the prospective buyer quotes the price from FB Friday sales thread saying I'm asking for more without taking into account the $70 hard to get sheath which they're getting for $20 plus free overseas shipping.
However 90% of my dealings here have been excellent.

It is what it is. Sellers are free to price their knives for whatever they think they will sell for. No need to justify asking prices. That said, potential buyers are free to make offers and negotiate. Arguments about fairness are just negotiating tactics. When selling, I don't take offers or negotiating tactics personally. I just say make me an offer (if one has not already been made). If it's an offer I can accept, I say deal. If not, I say no thanks. Ultimately they all sell for what they are worth at that point in time to that group of potential buyers.

Just me but I feel like that's the most respectable way to say " I won't pay what your asking but, I'm interested." I'd prefer to ask me my best price.

Scotcha, I am with you but 90% still surprises me... one might hope there would be even less people that have major issues with doing simple math: Take two numbers, add them and compare to a third. All knives you have been selling recently are less than 3 months old and new and you are selling at more than fair prices...even without taking into account the hit you are taking for shipping tracked packages around half the globe!

If your buying or selling anything on an internet "Flea Market" you better not be offended easily. If you have ever been to a real flea market you'd realize how civil this place really is. I do a ton of internet commerce - my advice? (which I'm sure most of you do) take offers, comments, rudeness, etc. with a grain of salt... it's going to happen and you can always refuse to do business with someone.

You know I can't stand doing business with you Abe :D

You're right Simon. Probably being a grump. Would be closer to 96% :)

I hate doing business with you Chae :)

You guys are way to nice. I'll rip an M'fer up one side and down the other if they try their "I'm a cheap bastard" B.S with me. Already did it once with some dude from the other side of the forum. Scotcha is more than fair with his prices in my opinion and so is everyone here!

Told you guys, beware of this guy :)

I've not bought and sold like many here, however I still agree about the haggling. It's stupid.

And, Abe, that Terrasaur is fantastic!!

Heh, heh, heh... I'm a sweetheart of a guy. That is until someone tried to take advantage of my good nature.

You didn't miss much, Kymedic. Just some moron trying to low ball people that doesn't realize the value of a Fiddleback.

Ahh ok. Thanks bro!

Just a reminder that the Flea Market is not a general chat thread. We already have plenty of those. :)
