The Flea Market Mung Absolution Thread

What bog oak do you have left to sell? I'm thinking a Bushcrafter style blade length 3 7/8" - 4" or so, A2 or 01. Thanks

If you're talking to me, the only ones I'm open to selling right now are the Fiddleback Terrasaur and W.A. Surls Patriot which are both new/unused and in this post [click me]

Feel free to email or PM with any questions.

Thanks
Jerry

Great Goggly Moggly Peter that camp muck is Devine!

Thanks Rob ! Deciding to let this one go was difficult. I was up to 4 Camp Muks which is a few too many. In the end I've decided to keep two, one in bolstered ironwood & the other in bolstered evergreen burlap. Whoever snags this one will definitely have a nice one to take out on the trail.

Almost forgot.......this one's for you Rob:

I don't think I can take it anymore. Phil's HB, OKT sales thread & Fiddleback Friday coming up. God help me!!!

So many nice knives on the Flea Market this week, between Peter, Phil and Bear71. That fat handled scandi hiking buddy is going to make somebody happy.

A couple of those Shanks at Lee's are some old school goodness!

Indeed if that natural canvas one was a wooden handled one I would have bought it months ago.

Added sheath options for Nessmuk and EDCII in Post 10874.

Damn Kris. I wish I had the money for the EDC II. I have recently come to like that model a good bit after playing with a Rustic Wrap version, and until I saw your post I was under the impression there were no tapered stainless Fiddlebacks. They definitely seem to be rare.

In the last week I have sold two knives here. One for my asking price and the other for a negotiated $10 off. I have two more still listed at fair prices that will sit there unbumped until someone buys them, offers a reasonable discount, or a long time goes by with no activity. I think the two-week before bumping policy on the general Exchange makes a lot of sense to provide some pricing stability to the market and save desperate sellers from being their own worst enemy.

It has been said that a wolf or coyote will chew off its own leg to escape a trap. Some sellers seem that desperate and it hurts the overall market. I encourage sellers to not behave like panicked animals and figure out the right price to post something at and be patient. Unfortunately, patient sellers are more rare than Electric Orange burlap around these parts. My advice is to buy smart for desirable configurations and sell reluctantly for close to the original price. There is no logical reason why unused knives are valued way less than new prices on a Friday other than desperate seller behavior that modifies the norm.

That's my take on things. Be wise on purchases. Be reluctant to sell. Be patient when you want to sell.

Phil

Obvious need for a bump

Rare indeed! I only recall a couple others. I love the EDCII and would be keeping this one if I didn't have two others.

Runt w/ curly Mango over black w/ white pinstripes, Tapered Tang, convex on 1/8” spalted A2 steel - $275

The chatoyancy in the mango on this one is amazing, I've yet to see anything like it.

Have any pics that might show the color better?

Just to try and help out with pics or a concept of the wood on this Runt, I'm willing to bet that it kicks butt in light / sun light, has a lot of depth and the depths change as you rotate the knife in the light. Here are some pics of a green curly mango Handyman that I used to own.

Indoor light with and without flash.

Figured it was a nice slow day to post a blade for sale on the Market. And...the floodgates open!
