The Flea Market Mung Absolution Thread

I know that the likelihood of this knife actually existing AND being owned by someone that is willing to sell is about the same as me meeting and being propositioned by Scarlett Johansson, but it doesn't hurt to dream...

I am looking for a Custom Shop Kephart with PIB scales. My second choice would be Osage, Desert Ironwood or coffee bag burlap... and I am willing to consider anything. If all else fails, I might just end up buying a plain production knife. Custom or production, either one will be totally awesome since Andy only makes great knives.

I actually made an offer on it, but it was admittedly low. I just didn't have the cash to get up to where he needed it to be. I'm regretting not finding a way...but happy I didn't get myself in a bind.

Are you referring to the post for the WAS Patriot w/ ancient Bog Oak over black liners with white pinstripes, Flat ground 1/8" SFT A2?

If so, the answer should be YES :-)

Thanks Shane.....one thing I can say with confidence is that the taper is exceptional & the balance on the knife is perfect !

Hard to let this one go, however, other priorities are calling.

What say?! I think I'd miss some pinstripes, tho'. Once it hits Heespharmville, a spine shot will be forthcoming and then I'll Know.

I still really want an Esquire most/next, but if one isn't forthcoming, I'm fine with adding the right StubbyMuk should it arise. I'm all accommodating like that. ;)

I sure am glad today's Esquires weren't my cuppa, so I wasn't even tempted to vie against the Birthday Boy and his support network this afternoon. My goodness! :eek:

It doesn't help that I'm so durned picky. I like Oreo, but certain liners set it off in a way that's more pleasing (to me) than others. I don't care for bolsters. I may decide to hold out for TT, but that's a harder call should the right Purty SFT version of either knife come along.

And all this, whilst still getting to know my wondrous, strong, too-cool Patch knife. What have ye done to me, the lot of you?!
