The Flea Market Mung Absolution Thread

Can you please enable PMs and/or emails within your user profile so that conversation about payment can be taken offline outside the sales thread?

The sales threads are for sales. Potential Buyers have to search through the thread for knives they may be interested in buying. Sellers have to search through to update their sales threads. It makes it much more difficult browsing the sales threads if they're filled with conversation.

If it isn't a sales post or a reply to a sales post stating that you'll take it, then it likely belongs in a PM, email or over here in the Mung thread. The potential buyer could reply with "I'm interested, feel free to email me at xyz". The seller could reply with "Its available, please email me at xyz to discuss arrangements"

This is a great community of folks here in the Fiddleback forum and we welcome any new Fiddleback addicts and are here to help. Please take this request as Friendly Help rather than giving anyone grief.

Thanks,
Jerry

I can foresee the day in the not to distant future where sellers will have two pricing structures.

Fiddleback knife for sale as follows:

Price for Gold members with PM capabilities - $275

Price for Registered Users with no PM privileges - $300 (for the added frustration trying to communicate with you)

I avoid some of the communication hassle with the newbies/free-riders by encouraging RU's to click on my screen name and send me a "Visitor Message." You can reply there also by clicking on "View Conversation", so it acts like a PM in that regard. If an RU won't even bother to show the courtesy of sending a Visitor Message as I ask them to, I ignore the rabbit trail to nowhere to seek them out.

Many of us have posted helpful info to aid the newbies through the process. It is frustrating that many folks are too lazy to do even a minimal amount of research to take advantage of what's already there to help them out.

This ends my editorial opinion on this matter.
