The Funnel. The Inside scoop on whatever it is we're doing in here.

So do the lucky owners of the originals get all of the stickers?

Good point. We'll have to redo the stickers pre-blade. Damn. We're gonna need a different sticker guy if you guys keep buying knives..
So Mr. Leather dabbler, you fabbing an M18 sheath yet?
Also, you spilled over into page 2! Now I gotta lock the thread! :D

I havent made on yet. My stuff is always last I think lol. I am going to make a leather sheath with molle straps but I still have to figure it all out.

Being as I have no real skills other than the basic website function, from time to time I type various terms into the major search engines just to see how TMHunt custom knives is spreading to the outside world. The results lately have pleased me greatly. When you google image search tmhunt (safesearch off) the 1st 4 pages is almost exclusively relevant material from the website and BF, of course. Also, some cartoon warrior lady in a bikini..but I haven't investigated that. This is way better than when we first began, so that's good. Then, still on google image search, I tried Todd Hunt. I don't recommend you do this, but if you do, come back and tell me if you see what I saw! It can't be unseen..

So bout time to close this up and start up a new one right? Can I name the new one?

I'm still getting 2-3 emails a week from people who I guess missed the front page announcement about building inventory for Blade Show. I've gotten a pretty good form letter down, telling them about Todd's Blade Show dream and assuring them we'll be in touch right after we return, should they still be interested. I suppose I'll go post something on the "contact us" page about Blade Show..perhaps that'll help.

maybe you should just tell them there's an 8 month wait time right now due to a 400 knife order.

What is the wait time on a BK14 folder?

The Boss didn't specifically tell me not to mention this, so what the hell...
In case you didn't know, Todd (and occasionally Murph and myself) cut out each and every future TM Hunt knife on the $300 bandsaw in Todd's shop. Tedious is an understatement. The 1/4 stock for the M18 is a labor intensive task, to say the least. I moved 50 miles away just so Murph would have to do it all. :D
Anyway, as we prep for blade, a frequent worry of mine is how to meet what I think will be a much bigger demand for the Mighty M18 once we come back from blade. We are midway to solving some of this, as Todd has made some calls and maybe we have a waterjet guy lined up. So Instead of raw sheetmetal coming into the shop, he'll have precut blanks. This will speed things up, and roughly double the monthly M18 capacity...to 8 or something. It's a start. Currently, only about every 5th person that wants one gets one. That is unacceptable to Diesel the knife salesman.

silly question -- why is Todd using 6" wide stock for the M18 instead of 3" wide stock?
(nunya is an acceptable answer, but it could save him a chunk on metal costs and time)

Double the pleasure, double the fun. We get a Mohawk out of the 4" with an M-18. With a 6" piece we can get two M-18s.

Updated the site with some new pics of the "production" version of the M-18. Yeah..it was a prototype until now. I won't mention the changes by name..but I bet you can figure them out. It's the evolution of the business. And posted more pics on TM Hunt's facebook page. (you do know about the FB page, right?) http://www.facebook.com/pages/TM-Hunt-Custom-Knives/352892228090435
Go, share the pics on your page. Help spread the word.

Oh, look who discovered how to do stickies!

So I stopped by the shop on the way to work yesterday. I wanted to drop off a case of Yuengling operator coolant. The man is kicking ass!
