The future of RAT

It's a good thing I'm a patient man!
I'd probably wait a decade if I had to for that folder :D

What if we melted a pile of D2 and 1095 together and made the blade out of that?

I wonder what the actual steel is that has a chemical composition half way between the two. Anyone know?

Oh IT WILL be produced. We want to blade to be D2 and the liner/frame to be stainless.

D2 ? Sold ;)

I would even spring for 440C on that design. Good luck with that project. Hope fitting everything together goes smoothly.

Wow I missed that design the 1st round but it is gorgeous. Incredibly well designed and it really does look like a photo. I cannot wait!

I wonder if they will ever use 5160 in some of the bigger tools. Maybe there is not that much to gain by it, but it would interest me.

Well I got 6 pockets in these Carhartt pants so I want 12 of them. Just in case I have to replace one you know? I could deal with a left side carry though. But WOW that thing looks amazing.

@PayetteRucker

Think you got the wrong thread.

nope, not at all. look 3 pages back... I'm spending a week at a time in Northern Idaho right now and have no access to the internet up there... thus I respond late to topics like this one that get 10 pages long real fast.

I see, thought it was another rifle-stock thread u were referring to.

Enjoy your no-internet days while they last!

Not to veer too far off topic, but a picatinny mounted wrist rocket is kind of a cool idea. Just tossing that out there.

I am very excited to see what comes next from RAT, you guys are truly a class act. And I *REALLY* love that folder design. No matter what steel it comes in.

I think RAT's plans are sound. They have a good base and can expand, besides everyone loves tee-shirts and all that.

I am wondering what blade steel is going to be used in the folder? Anybody knows?

If it is high carbon, then I will buy one. May be it is just me, but I hope that RAT Cutlery will not follow the trail of countless "stainless" folders.
