the great md ff price hike experiment...

Yes, I'll be watching ... hard to tell, but over a month or 2 it should be a bit more clear

btw, the other massdrop fiasco with supergold steel endura and delica have finally shipped - after people waited more than a year

Been a long time member and I knew going into it that it would take a long time. Also spyderco had delayed the order due to not being able to get the steel and checking quality control at there location. We all had the opportunity to cancel said order if we wanted too. I've had a few orders go over the month or so time it usually takes. Generally I only buy items I can't get elsewhere or have a bigger discount at md than the competition. So the wait ain't so bad cause it's expected in my case and I only use md when it's to my advantage.

They ain't the store they started out as. So don't pretend it is. They have to make money as well as the vendor they get the product from as well as any designers if involved.

The waiting sucks but expect it. Sometimes orders get canceled all together. There's also alot of other issues you can see reading the comments on many of the items. It's not a perfect system. Alot of mistakes happen.

Overall it's okay. I find that alot of people don't care they have to wait or care the price difference they just don't care to look. This makes it viable for the company to keep offering so many things imho.

Personally, if I never buy a knife on md again, I wouldn't be missing anything. For the most part they don't offer what I want except sometimes. And most likely find it on the exchange, cheaper, later. But I do like most of the deals I bought like pens, flashlights, wool clothes, Sox, and other varieties of products for a good deal a few times a year.

this qualifies as another massdrop price experiment... $99 for a 440c esee snub nose neck knife - 'imlay' ... anyone willing to wager whether or not they'll get the required purchases (set at 4 at this time : ) (blade length is 2.25")

We get it. You don't like mass drop. Neither do I. You won't find me constantly bitching about it though. Just don't buy if you don't like. It's not all that complicated.

Why don't you make a thread about it? I was surprised to see there was no thread about the Super Gold Delica.

Your vendetta against MassDrop is tiring.

Why don't you tell me which BladeForums supporting dealer is selling the Kizer Pinkerton Little River Bowie cheaper than the $50 that MassDrop is selling it for right now. KnifeCenter and BladeHQ are both selling the knife for $91. Why don't you call them out?

valid point danke42, I still get surprised when I see offers like this, and I treat the bf forum too much like a stream of consciousness

I have no vendetta, I even gave massdrop props when they dropped the price on 2 kershaw shuffles from $30 to $21

I have no vendetta

Then I'll repeat what you avoided answering.

KnifeCenter and BladeHQ are selling the Kizer Pinkerton Little River Bowie for $91. MassDrop is selling it for $50 with free shipping.

Why aren't you calling out KnifeCenter and BladeHQ?

The Market doesn't necessarily work the way you think it does. When Gaston Glock was introducing the Glock 17 he wanted to charge well under $200 for it. The marketing specialist all told him the same thing. Don't do it! If it's cheap it must be garbage (in the eyes of the consumer). So the Police got the real price and everyone else payed close to double and history was made.

PS Glocks unit cost on the Gen 1 Glock 17 was around $70.
