Railroad spike. LOL :D You're killing me man. I like that. That sounds like quite a heavy monster too.
That's pretty clear I'd say. I'm glad. If I wanted a pry bar I'd buy one. This saves me from having to regrind the knife down. I don't have a lot of use for knives that don't cut well. No problems or misunderstandings from this customer.

I have a S7 knife over .330 width. It always seems to stay at home. It could make a great stake, or a railroad spike but a comfortable cutter it isn't.

It's not really much of an exaggeration. I used to be a laborer on the B&N ( before they added the AT&SF) and know a hell of a lot about railroad spikes. How to unload them , 125 lb bags on a moving, sawying train ( an old SD9 used as a work train instead of retiring. The bigger & Newer units were carrying mile long trains from Wyoming back east carrying coal to plants around chicago somewhere) The Foreman called a cadence by time, which changed with speed of the train. Each call of "throw" meant I had to throw a 125 lb bag over the side. The more you unloaded, the lower in the car you were and the higher and harder you had to work to get them. Hard work!. We had machinery that set the ( quarter mile track called "ribbon rail") rail, settled the ballast ( rocks we dumped a few days before) and drove in the spikes. We only had to drive spikes at switches and places like that.

I guess it's no wonder my joints need replacing at 50. :(

4 so far, and 6 surgeries to go . :) I'm stocking up on toys for my rehabilitation, the hardest part of all.

Impressive videos, congrats!!!
But may I ask a question... What would happen if you acted exactly the same with a Ka-bar BK2?
I'm not trying to challenge you: I just try to see the differences between your great knives and my fav wood-eater.

Actually I don't have any idea. lol. My only competition has been with myself. If I had a BK-2 to go destroy, I would certainly do it. Alternatively, if I cross paths with one for a decent price, I'll put it through the paces on video to give you an answer. I'm not against it, the opportunity has just not presented itself yet.

Thanks a lot for your honest answer!
And you should make a comparison video. Because, if you can prove that your knives are tougher than a BK2... well... it could seriously boost your reputation... ;)

Suppose I'll have to look into getting a BK2 for a side by side.

Ok, the first run is going to be kind of be a mixed bag of handle colors/materials. I have all of the handles machined now so I can't take any more custom set up options for certain. If you already requested something specific you are most likely taken care of and I'll have photos of your particular knife in a week or so. In the mean time, here are a few more teaser photos. These knives all went to Edgeworks Knife and Supply Co, located in Frederick MD. Notice the one GSO-4 model with corbys. I'll have some more GSO-4's and GSO-5's set up like that available for sale. I'm really loving the way those are turning out. Merry Christmas Everyone!

Those are some nice looking knives.

BTW, I prefer natural canvas or green, but will take anything except orange. :)

Merry Christmas to you and family.

Videos and pics are awesome -- these are seriously some cool knives and I'm planning on picking one up sometime. Maybe a 6, or maybe I'll hold out for the GSO 10. But I have a question: is the GSO6's pommel squared off or is it a sharper point? In the video where you'd cutting through the windshield, it looks like it's squared off, but in the pics it looks like it's a point.

It's a pointed pommel. Like I said in the video, it's nothing that is sharp to the touch. Unfortunately the GSO-6's are all sold out, even though they aren't all finished yet. lol. I'm working on a revised GSO-5 that has a hammer style pommel instead of a glass breaker. It will most likely replace the current GSO-5 and the GSO-6 since they are already so similar in size. Each of the knives I'm currently working on have "prototype" etched on the non presentation side of the blade for good reason. ;) The GSO-10's are just being water jet cut this week. They'll be along shortly and man are they going to be cool. The first batch of those are all sold so I'm looking at maybe doing another short run as a follow up. The first ones will all have corby'd handles, red G10 liners and media blasted canvas handles(layered double black and green). Here's some photos of some knives that have just been finished.

Ah, so the new GSO-5s with the square pommels are going to replace the GSO-6, too? How thick are you planning on the new GSO-5? I like the .188 thickness of the 6, plus the fact that it's choiless.

And when is the next batch of the GSO-10 planned? I'd really like to get my hands n one of those.

It's just something I'm considering right now. My GSO-6 is .215" thick. The GSO-4 is .188" I'm thinking of offering at least two thicknesses of GSO-5 in the future, to suit different needs. It's all just speculation right now though.
I don't have a definite time line on the full run of GSO-10's it will come down to the interest level and my operating budget. They are a big hunk of steel.

Good news for anyone who will be wanting one of the first prototypes. Check the first post in this thread for updated(lower) prices! For those of you who already paid me for a knife, you will get the difference in cash along with your knife. Shipping is still included with the price as well as a sheath made by Kiah. "What's wrong Guy, aren't they selling?" Interest in my knives is extremely high and knives are selling like crazy. People are loving the knives in fact. My problem is that these prototype knives have had the bevels completely ground by hand. It was done by Bark River and they are SHARP but with that being said, each one is still unique. I'm a detail oriented guy and the slight variations in grinding make me want to sell them for a little less. They are still Peter's treated 3V and they are every bit as nice as what you see in my videos. So if you are in the market, get ready to pick up a 3V knife CHEAP! This offer is for Blade Forums members only!

A 5 and EDC4 are on the short list. Nice work brother, this looks like a killer design well-executed.

Now where are the 3 and the Skele-2?

I'm working on a knife that is a slightly bigger brother to that neck knife in the photo. Here's some things coming down the pike really soon.
