The "Help, I have a crappy knife" Contest.

Not an entry.

This is my crappy knife.

Here's why. All three blades are bent! They couldn't even center any one of them!

The steel they used must be pot metal,it won't hold an edge as long as 204p. And anytime you cut something the blades turn all dark and yuckie. It's not as good as Rostfrei.:(

Finally the plastic they used for the scales is crap. You can clearly see it faded after only 35 years.

Schrade sure messed this one up:confused: :D:p
Consider yourself lucky ;)
my 33OT has major play in the main blade, and my 34OT had absolutely zero snap to the sheep's foot blade.

Btw even with the major blade play the 33OT has I still carry and use it because it still cuts just fine and I don't notice the play anyways.

Pull me from the list, my post was tongue in cheek I have plenty of nice knives to include that Emerson.

I was rearranging my storage building this past weekend and came across a box of knives that I thought was lost in my last move. It was my childhood knife collection. My uncle turned me on to knives as a kid. He sold them at flea markets on the weekends, nothing fancy, mostly frost Cutlery. But it was so cool to me as a kid.

As I went through this box, although it brought back fond memories, I quickly realized that these knives belong in this thread. So for your viewing pleasure, here's some of my childhood favorites.

.... that would be me mate, I have plenty of great knives and just jumped in to show I may also have the crappiest.... even winning i would have passed along the GC to someone more deserving so lets just drop me out of the running (unless you buy a gift card with Busse Co. Then hell yes, I need all the shop credit I can get this month !!!!! ;) ) :D :D

I've had some of these in my collection I sold.

Here's a POS that belongs in this thread, I don't carry it but it lives on the workbench in my dimly lit garage.

I consider my users to be good, so I guess this would not be an entry as this prize should go to someone without a knife they consider good.
( I've got some others may not consider very good, but they're good to me )

The little silver one top left was my first pocket knife. The bottom right is an auto. The blade will open like a normal knife with the thumb stud but if you slide the bolster the blade fires.
There was an old buck 3 blade traditional in there to. Probably the best knife in the case.

I've got an orange plasitc handled one of those eagle eyes, at one point I had every size.
I keep it in my tackle box to give to someone I meet who forgot or lost their knife.

I've never had to give it away yet, but I'd make sure they know it's basically disposable and only better than nothing.
In my experience they always crack around the lockbar pivot.

My worst knife. I have owned this for 25 years and even field dressed a deer with it as a teenager. It is complete crap. It has a spring like a slip joint but also a terribly executed liner lock that is at full travel and still allows a considerable amount of blade play. The liner lock even has instructions on it for those that don't know. If you look closely you can see the word press on the liner.

It was once used quite a bit when I was a kid. It then got lost in the bottom of a tackle box for years. After that it got moved and forgotten about in the bottom of a tool bag. After being found there it was thrown in the door of my truck. It has ridden in some hidden crevice of one vehicle or another for many years. I cannot say that I have ever really used it since my teenage years but it is sort of always around just in case I need a disposable knife. Thankfully I have never needed it as it would likely be dangerous to use. The lock and blade play are that bad.

I doubt this will win as there are some impressively crappy knives in this thread but if I do I will use the funds to buy a knife for a non knife person in need. I curretnly have more quality knives than any sane person would need.

No offence to the Old Timer fans. The 8OT is one of my all time favorite knives.

Pakistani pen blade, bent hard to the right to the point I have to bend it left to close or it hits the G10 liner. If you look close the rivets are working themselves out too! Yes I do use it, but gently like cutting tape or scraping glue.
I'll leave this up to Hackenslash Hackenslash if this is an entry. I do have some decent knives, but they've all been given or purchased second hand on the Exchange (sorry too much responsible adult stuff really stifles any kind of knife budget lol). Either way though, good luck to all the other junk-wielding knife nuts thus far.

Crappy $1 bear hunter knife from the flea market. I use it to fish and a lay around knife in my room. Had another Mtech tanto from the flea market but lost it and just got it. I had to sell the majority of my safe queens and users. However I'm always on the hunt for new deals.

So sad, not a true crappy knife in the bunch. :p This is not an entry, luckily for you guys, as it would surely take the cake. ;)

Back in the 80's, when I was about 10 or 11, I bought this truly crappy knife out of a hardware store display. I tried to actually use it, but the blade promptly broke off the same day. The jackwagon store owner refused to give me my money back, and actually had the gall to tell me I shouldn't have bought such a piece of junk. I told him that HE shouldn't sell such crap to unsuspecting kids, called him some profane name, and then ran away.

Took that dumb broken knife home, went into the garage, and emerged with the newly-invented push-dagger. Yes folks, you heard me right, you have this humble BF member to thank for such a modern-day piece of tactical operator kit. Feels really good to finally have that information out in the open, which has been weighing so heavily on my shoulders the past 3 decades.

Just happened to run across this first-of-its-kind prototype model today when I was looking through a box of my old junk at Dad's place. Figured it would be a perfect entry in such a serious thread. Warped butterknife-dull Pakistani blade, paper board sheath, pine dowel and bolt push-dagger handle, and all! :D

Ok, the CRAP stops here. I need to go through and make sure I've got all the entries sorted and then set up a poll. Soon there shall be only ONE Crappiest Knife on Blade Forums. Good luck to you all.

I may not get the poll up until tonight so be patient.
