Which style for the satin HOGB8?

I still contend that the knife should be sharp when new from the shop, so I would contact them. I have received knives that would no doubt embarrass Jerry regarding sharpness, but sharpened them myself. However, even Buck knives from Wal-Mart come very sharp, and I have NEVER received a Cold Steel blade that wasn't hair-shaving sharp. The choice is up to Blain; though he should have contacted the shop before posting about the problem. We all know that Busse WILL make it right.;)
 
As Rob pointed out it's Subjective....I don't allow a blade out of my shop that won't shave the dog...he cringes when I call him....but I understand and I have had customers come by and ask if I can show them how to keep it sharp or what method I use to get them "Hair Popping" sharp....I point to the KMG Grinders and My buffers with different wheels and explain the progression....they nod and simply ask if I can just touch it up and say thanks for explaining all that goes into sharpening....:cool:

The knives I receive from Busse are generally ready for duty and only after I whip 'em a little will they need a touch up...:D:D:D

I hate being wrong (because I hardly ever am... just ask my Wife :foot:), but in this case I'd gladly make an exception.;)

Is there something I'm not aware of? Is the basic 8 slotted for re-release?
 
Can someone fill me in on the special abilities of the 8 versus the 6, 7 or the 10? I do love the look without choil and the drop point. But I would love a 6 like that also... Why are the Basic 6 so hard to find? was there not many made?
 
Both the B6LE and the Euro Basic 6 were both limited runs and the owners of those blades have a tendency to hold onto them. I know my Euro-6 will be one of the last Busse-Kin of mine to go. Dare I say, if the HOGB8 never happens, I could likely live happily with my Euro 6 filling that role (especially now that norcalblacktail threw one of his smokin' hot edges on it for me!!!):thumbup:
