THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

It may just be me, but I tried two different browsers, and they're not showing up. I don't know.

Thank you for that explanation Sam. The Jungle King 1 is on its way to me now. Hopefully, I will have it within the week. Reviews of this knife were so mixed I didn't know what to expect. I ordered it directly from Spain to make sure it wouldn't be a Chinese copy. There were a lot of great reviews but also many negative reviews. I eventually worked out that many of the negative views were of the Chinese copies that people labelled as real Aitors, the rest by haters of hollow handled knives who had never even owned the knife and who let their own bias get the better of them. Since this thread started, I have bought a Jungle King 1, a Schrade SCHF2SM, a SCHRADE SCHF2, and a Chris Reeve Project 1. The only one that has arrived so far is the SCHF2 and I love it. It is a heavy knife at nearly 18 ounces but it feels so good in the hands for such an inexpensive beater. I don't know why but I like the heaviness (and I do own many similar length but great lighter knives eg Sog Seal Team and some customs) but I do. It will be interesting to compare it to the similar (but 14 ounce) Project 1 when it arrives. I hope my hollow handled virus has run its course but some of those customs HH knives look so nice.:D

Ok let me try them this way

I have to admit that that is the one custom HH knife that calls to me the most. I must be strong! I keep telling myself it is too long, too heavy, and not practical. I think however if that one became available I would probably weaken and buy it. So far that three month or so wait period for this knife is protecting me from myself.

They're showing loud and clear now, Dave. Very nice, man, very nice.

Sorry I was slow to email you Glenn, I was at the VFW when I posted drinking with friends. Just emailed you the link.

Unfortunately the seller has not listed Australia as a location for purchasing and ebay won't even allow me to ask the seller if he would send it to Australia (because Australia is not listed for delivery on this item). What a pain!

Hi again guys

I really like the Apparo and have been trying to contact the guys at Martins knives with no success. Any ideas why? Sent a couple of emails now

Cheers
Gav

Your welcome, he usually answers that email in a day or two. You will like the Apparo its a slick design and very useful. I'm about 2 months out on when my mce2 should be ready, hoping that blade show doesn't slow it down too much.

I was sold on the Apparo the moment I saw it. Been off this thread for a while but back now. I will get a deposit down on the knife and wait eagerly ;)

Cool deal, the wait seems like forever but its well worth it once its in hand and using it out in the woods. Are you going to upgrade the steel to s35vn and the lugged guard?

added a pic I don't think I've posted

The lugged guard doesn't give you any thing extra I just like the way it looks, like the oval one as well though. I went with the s35v just because it didn't need a coating and I've had good experience with it in other knives.
