THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

Awesome news, guns! Did you go with the model I ordered or one of his other HH styles?

When the day comes for my next custom knife purchase, I am pretty confident it will be Sam Wilson's SAFE model.

I went with the same model, as I really like that blade geometry.

cricket, I was going to mention the length of the handle. At first I was surprised by how long it was. But I really like it; it is very comfortable in my hand.

This is a good point, bowie. A good handle length like that will definitely reduce hand fatigue in use, and also add storage to the knife. Can't say enough how nice Greg Wall did on that knife. That thing looks ready for action, and it's begging to be carried! Sheath compliments it beautifully, too. Get us some pics once you get it dirty!

PS: Sorry if I missed it, but what steel is it?

Thanks,
Sam

Thanks, the weekend isn't going any better, found my elderly rotty had passed away in her sleep last night and had to bury her.

Cricket, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your dog. They are truly members of the family. My condolences to you.

Thanks guys its been a rough couple of months, lost my 12yr old doberman, then my 10yr old cat, then my favorite horse that I've ridden for 20yrs and now old bobby joe the rotty. All the other animals are much younger so it should be many a year before we have to go through that.

My buddy Zeus has been hovering close to keep us all from being too sad.

Cricket great pic man. Hang in there. Can I ask a knife related question. What technique do you use for wrapping your handles and what size cord? The cord on the newt knives is nice and thin

I use 2mm paracord on mine, got it on ebay. The original cord is a bit thicker and is normally used jug fishing or on a trotline. Last spool of the trotline cord I got enough to do a hundred knives probably for 8 bucks. I just followed Newts instructions on his website on how to do it.

Thanks my friend found all I need

Another general question for you all. I see randall model 18 stainless steel skull crusher end caps with compasses inside them...also brass ones. Would the stainless steel not affect the compass?

Not if it's made from 300 series stainless, which is non-magnetic.
