I would really love to have one of the Jack Crain predator knives, but ground differently. As it was done it had an odd grind, bring the edge back to the choil, make it a full flat grind and clean up the lines of the false edge and it would be great.

No thats an actual Crain, I haven't heard much but bad about Black Starr, look in the feedback section on here for all the gory details.
Here is a link about Black starr, he looks like nothing but trouble to me

Honestly the reason I haven't bought a Crain knife is that he takes forever to deliver and I don't care much for the steel he uses for the price. He is local to me and I've spoken to him on the phone a few times, very cordial and nice. Just pretty slow to deliver from all I've read and heard.
I didn't even know Crain was still making knives. From what you can find on the internet, you would think he is the devil himself. Glad you had a good experience talking to him at least.
I don't know, my guess is they just get going good and getting a lot of exposure and they try to take on more than they can handle. I would bet anything it just snowballs on them and suddenly they find themselves way out of control. Thats for the honest makers, now guys like Blackstar, well he's so full of crap his eyes are brown. He's not a maker and seems to have all the ethics of a rattlesnake with a tooth ache.

Trying to get in contact with you, Tdawg21. Thanks. All that is pretty much true and I could never recommend anyone dealing with, or most certainly sending money, to Britt Gudowski or Black Starr Knives. I have pending legal action getting ready to start against him in about the next week. Anyone who's been shafted by him can PM me and I can put you on the road to doing the same. There's only one way to deal with people like him unfortunately. They just weigh who will and who won't pursue them legally and screw people accordingly. I had to do the same years ago with J. Crain. At least he was smart enough to send the knife before the SHTF. I don't think Britt is even that smart. PM me with your info if he's ripped you off.
