THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

Ha ha great minds. Done the Facebook thing...I know what you mean re knife. It's being sold as soon as I get it...just frustrated. I want a refund but I need to actually receive emails back and I feel refund would be promised and never delivered. Sorry I don't want this off topic...but you guys are a really trustworthy bunch

Yes now matton now we are talking. How much does his rambo knife run for does anyone know? It's a beauty. I've been eyeing up the Andy wood one but he's not making anymore and the ones available are pretty pricey

I have no idea on Matton's knives, I know he makes a very nice one. I'd be surprised if they were not competitively priced with other makers, so mid 500s to 600 i would imagine. If less than that there a bargain.

There are still some of the old timberline's around to buy too, as well as the lile commemorative knives. I had one of the original Lile knives back in the mid 80s and it was very well made.

I will ask me matton, and I've seen the timberline ones too very nice. Would love an original lile but out of my current reach :)

Yeah me too now. Back when I bought it seems like I payed 695 for it. Some scumbag stole it in a house break in.

Yep and that was a huge amount of money for me back then, to compare my wife talked me out of buying a rolex submariner a few months later for 750.00 bucks. I could still kick her for that. lol.

Hello guys!!

Sorry for not being here in quite some time but I have been going through some personal issues and have just not been myself. But I am getting back to there though...just taking a little time.

Anyway, so glad to see this post thread still open and going strong. LOL looks like I have quite a bit of catch-up reading to do.

Since I have been here though, I have gotten a few new knives. One awesome new knife I bought is the Toothpick knife by Down Under Knives. I have their Outback Bowie knife also and just LOVE that big badass knife. Now it is not a hollow handled knife amd neither is the Toothpick knife, which I have wanted to buy ever since hearing about it...But still, they are both high end super quality knives.

I will take some pics of them soon. And I am still waiting for my new Sam Wilson extreme hush-hush knife. There have been few minor delays with getting that knife made...beyond Sam's control of course!! But it is coming tho.

And when it us Finally made its way to me, rest assure that I will be taking and posting lots of pics of it. Just bare with me and Sam. And thanks to all of you who have shown concern for me through asking Sam. A person never knows just how much of an impact he makes with ppl and forums until he's not beem
around them for a while.

Cricket it's crazy isn't it. I am one of those people who always loses money on knives and stuff. Everyone else seems to sell and make money. My knives always fail to sell and I lose loads of money very frustrating. If anyone has any ideas how to speed a maker along please let me know ha ha

The only knives I've ever made money or broke even on are Busse knives, everything else not so much. Broke even on Chris Reeve folders but thats about it. I don't buy them to resell though just buy what you like and want to use and don't worry about it after that.

That is good advice. I think I'm just sore over the whole maker thing. Anyway....waiting on some 2mm paracord to mess around wrapping a few handles :)

Once you get the hang of wrapping them its pretty easy, just watch the edge as you wrap. I use a screwdriver to pull the slack through when its wrapped all the way then cut and melt the ends.

I know exactly what you mean. I'll stick with reputable makers going forward myself as well. It's just not worth the hassle messing around with these jack leg wanna-be knife makers. Newt Martin is always at the top of my list and the boys over at Miller Bros Blades have been straight-up guys as well and their knives are built like a friggin anvil (no hollow-handles though :grumpy:). And I'm pretty sure I'm also gonna order an Andrew Clifford Lile-style Sly I at some point in the future too. So many knives...so little time!

So pleased you said that :) sometimes I think I'm alone at the moment regarding makers. People saying give them time it's only a month late. Fair enough give me my money back then until it's done! But when you ask for your money back they go silent!!! Grrrr

Newt is at the top of my list too. He's a stand up good guy. I've heard nothing but good things about mr wall so I wish I had put my money there...
