That is a Hackman from Finland. A Garcia is from Brazil and was a much lighter duty copy.

A piece of hacksaw blade works great, just bust of a short piece drill a hole in the end for a lanyard if you like and your good to go.

Well Newt Martin contacted me and my new knife is ready

should be shipped tomorrow and I should have it Wednesday he threw in a sheath since I will be going out of town for a week and won't have time to make one. Great guy to deal with. I'll post pics when and if I get a chance on the road to FT Knox. It will be riding on my pack.

I got a Mce2 9.5inch blade with saw back in s35vn I'm excited. Newt has moved recently too so he's running behind while he sets up his new shop.

I have a dilemma. I need to order annother Apparo. But I've got a craving to have it with a satin blade not subdued...

Newt said he's never done a satin apparo there's been no market for it. In your guys opinion is satin a bad idea on the knife (apparo not any other knife) or should I go for it?

No I think the Apparo would look fine in satin. I'd go for it if you don't care for it you can always bead blast it later.

Well my new MCE2 in s35vn came in the mail this morning. Of course I had to run down to the creek and chop a few things and get some pics. It chops through branches quick and easy full flat grind and cuts through sticker vines great. The fit and finish is just what you would expect from Newt, perfect. The sheath is very well made from shepard sheaths.
