The Hunting of the Snark - Beckerized

I had a H&R 12 cut down to 18" and put a sythetic stock on. Kicks like a mule but it's very handy. I'd like to get a Rossi .410/.22lr combo. The whole package with both barrels is maybe 4 pounds. I have a Rossi "snake charmer" .410, very light weight and just cool.

We have one of the Rossi 410/22's an it is a great gun, it is extremely compact

What I really want is a Springfield m6 scout

I like 870's - and a certain outfitter store has them on killer sale this weekend.

Hmmm.... Time to hit Google. A shotgun is towards the top of the list, although I figure I should find a decent pistol to carry regularly first.

They look neat. Held a Savage .22 over .410 at the gun store. It was over $400 so I figured I'd rather have to swap barrels and save $270 or so.

So, today sucked at work, however work is done. Tomorrow is another day, and the last day of the work week for me! So... Who cares right!

Dubz, that is good bad good news! Glad to hear while it isn't THE most favorable outcome it's a better outcome than the current situation.

About the shotguns, I wish I had my grandpa's old gun. He had a safari gun, it was a 30/30 on top with a 20 ga on bottom, made by FN. However when my grandfather passed my uncle took the guns. He got a Winchester 30.06, the safari gun, and my grandpa's old drop gun a snub nose smith and wesson .38 special from when he was a cop in Chicago in the 40's.

When I got home tonight I made supper, made the burgers I was talking about yesterday.

If in the future you guys wanna come over for burgers, just let me know!

I think there needs to be a separate firearms thread. Oh wait.....there is. I always wanted one of those bang sticks....you know, for killing snarks.

I think all my stuff's already in the gun thread. I've bagged quite a few snarks. The snark populations has exploded recently so they've been issuing tags like crazy.

I could eat collard greens every single day. Love me some greens. For 4-5 years straight i DID eat collard greens every day Mon-Fri. Step mother owned a small restaurant for 5 years. It was a country style all you can eat buffet type place and every day after school before work id eat fried chicken. collard greens, and either corn bread or a biscuit depending on which bread was out there. Everyone told me id get tired of that meal but i never did.

These were made by a lady that my wife works with. She is from the south and i can tell it with every bite. They are delicious!! Id give that a woman a kiss right now they are so good.

Been hunting for deer every chance I get and still nothing. Gotta work the rest of the week and the last day for rifle season is Saturday.

Going to try to make the most of it a pull an all day hunt. Either way this is our first season and I already can't wait for next season. Thinking about picking up a 12g shotgun for grouse and rabbits once deer season is over.

Looking at Remington 870 and 1100, Mossberg 500, and a Benelli Nova.

What do you guys think?

Jeremy

FWIW - I've got the 870 Express Super Magnum. You can put anything from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" shells through it. I haven't shot it a ton (maybe 200 - 300 shells) but sometimes it can have trouble cycling light weight dove loads.

YMMV.

*shudder*

My dad ate greens like they were going out of style, but they are just one thing I can't stand. All slimy. And stink to high heaven when cooking.

Thinking about one of these for my birthday:

Crazy thing would be if it was only a couple hundred lumens.

Funny still seeing those huge maglites that run on 3-4 D batteries and they are barely over a hundred lumens. Then you got... Well like my fenix PD35, barely over 5" long and 1" diameter pushing 1000 lumens. And only takes 1 18650 bat or 2 small cr123s.

One day we'll have flashlights built into our finger tips and computers built into our palms.

That one is supposedly 18 million candle power, but I don't always believe the claims.

Hey ww,
I'm looking to get an 18650 battery charger soon and need a recommendation. Hard to tell which ones suck and which ones don't just from the ads on the big river.

Warrior - if that's true you will need asbestos gloves just to hold it. But I ain't no scientist so what do I know.
