Hey ww,
I'm looking to get an 18650 battery charger soon and need a recommendation. Hard to tell which ones suck and which ones don't just from the ads on the big river.

I really like the Nitecore D2 intelligent Charger. Works for most rechargeable batteries, not just 18650s. Works on AA. AAA. RCR123, and more... Its what i use on my flashlight batteries and what i use to charge the eneloops AAs for my TV remotes etc. Works way faster than the charger that came with the eneloops that i got as a package deal. Its digital and lets you know how many volts, current, and charge time.

Its a great charger IMO and you can get it with different accessories for around 20 bucks on the river store. They have other package deals that go up in price depending on what you want too.

But i got it in a package deal WITH my fenix PD35, 2 cr123s, and a 3400mAh 18650 battery. When i ordered it the cost was 89 bucks total shipped. But now it is up to 100. Still a great package deal.

That one is supposedly 18 million candle power, but I don't always believe the claims.

LMAO!! 18 million candle power would roughly equate to 226,220,000 lumens. Yea at the price i just seen them going for i dont think id believe the claim either. But im sure it is bright as hell, and the price isnt too bad either.

A copy and paste...

1 candlepower = 12.57 lumens. But in order to interpret that statement, you need to understand that candlepower and lumens do not actually measure the same thing.

Candlepower is most useful as a measure of illumination in a particular direction, while lumens are most useful as a measure of total illumination. The conversion above is saying that a light source shining with 1 candlepower in all directions would produce 12.57 lumens.

ETA: Looks like the cyclops version which also states 18M candle power has been tested to slightly over 1400 lumens.

Regarding shotguns... I think any of those mentioned are solid choices. The 870 and 500/88 would be the easiest to customize with accessories. I used to prefer the 870 (and 88) crossbolt, but now don't mind the tang safety on the 500. Never shot a Benelli, but other than the price, have heard all good things. I also have a Mossberg 930 semiauto and love it.

I could eat collard greens every single day. Love me some greens. For 4-5 years straight i DID eat collard greens every day Mon-Fri. Step mother owned a small restaurant for 5 years. It was a country style all you can eat buffet type place and every day after school before work id eat fried chicken. collard greens, and either corn bread or a biscuit depending on which bread was out there. Everyone told me id get tired of that meal but i never did.

These were made by a lady that my wife works with. She is from the south and i can tell it with every bite. They are delicious!! Id give that a woman a kiss right now they are so good.

*shudder*

My dad ate greens like they were going out of style, but they are just one thing I can't stand. All slimy. And stink to high heaven when cooking.

Growing up near St. Louis (50 miles south), our food was kinda southern, but kinda not. For whatever reason, I always liked cooked spinach, but never liked the other greens. As I've gotten older, I've started tolerating the other types of greens if they are made right. I believe "made right" involves lots of bacon.

The lady who made those greens is from Louisiana. They were delicious. But they were only cooked with smoked turkey and not pork. Most of her family doesnt eat pork so she uses turkey. Still delicious.

Never understood how people couldnt like greens, or brussel sprouts... Any veggies really. I find them all quite delicious. Then again i never understood how people could like mayo... SO yea lol

Funny still seeing those huge maglites that run on 3-4 D batteries and they are barely over a hundred lumens.

You can get replacement LED's for the giant maglites :D I upgraded mine last weekend. Its still only about 150 lumin, but it lasts 2x as long (and you can beat people with it)

I put led's into my maglites too. They made a huge improvement in light and battery life. Mine have had the batteries in the for so long that I should probably check and make sure they aren't leaking.

I use to think eneloops lasted a long time between charges... Eneloops are nothing compared to a good 3400mAh 18650 battery. Granted the 18650 is a tad bit bigger, but the 3400mAh ones last crazy long.

Yeah, you need to go back and read that Wood. The whole article. That's not quite the way to apply the math to the application.

I love greens... A lot... Brussel sprouts are right up there in my top 3 veggies. But I can eat them much anymore. It screws with my rat poison intake. If I did, I'd have increase my rat poison and check my blood more often. A pain in the a$$. So the best I can do is iceberg lettuce. A veggie with nothing in it.

Damn I miss greens.

Never claimed to be good at math LOL, I have claimed to be NOT so good at math though HAHA.... I read the whole article a while back, but i figured if 12.57 = 1, then 226,220,00 = 18000000 ???

I understand they dont exactly measure the same thing though, like said above in the copy/paste from the article.

Please explain?? I love learning.. But i get lost in all the technical mumbo jumbo, so feel free to dumb it down :D

Also does rat poison = diabetes meds?? You lost me LOL

I feel for you on the greens though man. That sucks bud. Next time ill eat a batch in your honor. Next time being tomorrow during thanksgiving dinner LOL

I did the same. I bought a bunch of maglights back before LEDs were commonplace so the light output was comparable to similar lights if not better. Now with the LED upgrade it really puts out some light plus you could leave the thing on all night and it still won't be dead by morning.

My younger brother (pediatrician) who used to live in Houston had a nurse from Louisiana... He would often take in greens or red beans and rice to the hospital to share. One day, she told him "Doc 'O', you black." To which he replied "Red hair, pasty skin with freckles...probably not." Her reply - "Well, you cook like you black." I have to confess, he does cook southern comfort food like a champ. His secret was lots of bacon.

Probably not diabetes. I would presume he's talking about coumadin (warfarin) which is an anticoagulant (blood thinner). It was developed as a pharmaceutical for helping prevent blood clots and some heart disease. It has also been used as rat poison. When rodents ingest it in sufficient dose, their blood thins so much that it runs out their eyes, ears, etc, and they bleed to death. Loads of fun! I worked with a guy on warfarin and he had to take diuretics as well because the warfarin caused fluid to build up in his lungs. The diuretics were then causing kidney issues... Getting older is not for wimps.
