The Inkosi Appreciation Thread

Somebody school me.

What is the reason for the big-old-pivot on the Inkosi? I just cleaned and lubed mine and said, "Holy Crap" when I disassembled it. It's huge! I had assumed that it simply had big screw heads. Nope. The pivot matches.
It goes along with the large washers and blade stock. Its a heavy duty Sebenza.

The action on the Inkosi is IMO CRK's best no question. I rarely do, but I can Spydie flick mine. Oddly enough though, the Sebenzas have a much more authoritative "thunk" when they do lock up; especially the 31, it's really satisfying when the interface comes together.

I'm happy that I used the exact-same WE settings for large DP Inkosi that I use for a large DP 31 and wound up with the exact-same 1/16 secondary bevel...and an even one at that.

Handy. I guess the blade shapes are very similar.

Completely agree.

The grip on the inkosi is much more comfortable imo and I really like the thicker blade stock. Haven’t gotten my hands on a zaan yet but as of now the inkosi is my favorite. I’m sure I’ll end up with a few of them before long while I feel I’m good with the one sebbie I have.

Technically not an inkosi but the daddy to the inkosi. Already my second one.

Well, 24 hours in. I am really beginning to dig the Inkosi Gents.

Don't get me wrong, I like the 31 too...but this might wind up being the one that's in my pocket all the time. While waiting in the car today I tried to "flick" the Inkosi. It flicked. I've never been able to flick any of my Sebs. Couldn't understand how "slow-roll" and flicking could mesh.

Sacrilege with a CRK! But cool.

They have never built a better knife.

So Ive had my Inkosi riding in my work bag as a backup in the unlikely case I leave home without a knife or I decide Ill be doing something I don’t want to use a Reg or Original for if that’s what’s in my pocket.
Anyway, My water treatment guy was in this morning and needed to replace a couple of chem inject tubes on my boiler chem system. He asks if he can borrow my knife to cut the tubing he would need as he doesn’t have his on him today. Hes a good guy and a fellow redneck so I know he knows tools, but Im carrying my only 25 and the Lord only knows what kinda chems he’s gonna spread all over it before he’s done …I tell him to hang on and I go grab my beater ( MagnaCut Inkosi will take what you throw at it and can be easily replaced if needed). I toss it to him and go back to work.
An hour later he pops into my office to return my knife, all cleaned by the way, and starts raving on how cool it is and starts asking about it, what it is, where he can get one and what’s it cost. You all know the drill… Anyway Ive known this old boy for a decade and he’s done many solids for me over the years, I told him to hang on to it and never ever check to see what it costs!
I then withdrew my for sale add for my spare Inkosi and I’ll put it into service tomorrow. No matter how much Ive gone to the Sebenza side, the Inkosi is the best CRK made and Ill always have one.

That’s unbelievably generous of you Clay! I can only imagine how much of a day/ week/ year you probably just made him! It’s also nice to see someone who appreciates another man’s tools to bring them back in better shape than when they left. Sounds like a solid guy with a now solid knife! Well done, Sir!

He must be a good pal. :)

Totally agree about the Inkosi. I picked up two 31s, but wound up buying seven Inkosis and a 25 after that. Just like 'em better.

The DP Inkosi is more like a Regular than any other CRK I've seen (design, looks, smoothness, and feel). Just my opinion. Good stuff!

You gotta pay it forward every now and then to keep your karma in the green!

I used my small Inkosi to unbox the incoming Malibu and iMamba. That thing is such a joy to use. Now I need to spread them all out on my work desk as a constant reminder that I DON’T NEED TO BUY ANY MORE KNIVES.
It won't work. You will just realize that there are knives that fit between them...at least that's how I ended up with 12 CRK....

Sebenza is my true love among pocket knives, but the Inkosi was my first love. Maybe next year will see one return to my collection.
Having finally moved into the Large Sebenza after buying and selling smalls for years, I feel the same. There is nothing like a Sebenza from legacy to fit/finish. They are all I am interested in collecting and cherishing and I am very excited to finish my collection and just enjoying them.
However when I really know Ill need a knife the Inkosi gets the call almost all of the time.
