The keep the "design thread" uncluttered thread

chewbacca, the knife you posted in the design thread reminds me of the TOPS/Rinaldi Armageddon.

I based it on several knives - Becker BK1, various Battle Mistresses, Fehrman Final Judgement & Extreme Judgement, RTAK2, Ranger RD9, and Kershaw Outcast...don't think I have seen a Rinaldi Armageddon until I looked it up just now, but it does have some of that look too...now there is another chopper I want to buy:D

I talked to Trace a while back, better save your coins LOL they pretty expensive,I need a layaway plan LOL

Trace is truly a FIRST CLASS individual and maker. I'm proud to call him a good friend!

Too funny...I made my own because I can't afford fancy knives like Fehrman's and Busse's...RAT is about as high end as I go!

LOL I agree I had a brute style made from 01 steel ( still in making) and it set me back a few bills....
Trace is a craftsman..excellent knives !

Hey, you running with first class dude when you run with RAT! :D

A RAT fighter and chopper is overdue.
I'm thinking a fighter because of the amount of popularity RAT shares in the military.

Sorry for posting there. I did not think you needed a picture of a TAK to know what one looks like. That is a knife that RC/Rowen should be making right now.

No problem, Les. What we are looking for in this thread is unique ideas from users. The TAK has already been designed.

IMO, the TAK can not be beaten for it's design. I wish it was flying RC/Rowen colors!
I'd give my Ontario TAK to the needy!

I'm not going to comment on any of the designs since the whole intent here is to eventually let the forum users decide the ultimate winner. We're going to leave the design thread up for a few months, then we will close it and come up with some type of way of figuring what the best designs are then have a vote. With all that said, any winning design has to fit within the parameters of the type of manufacturing we do, so Shon will ultimately have to get involved and have a say in this.

Now, with all those disclaimers on the table, I think the thread is doing really well and it is obvious that some of the posters have put some time and effort into their work. And that is much appreciated. That is also the reason we don't want the casual discussion on the thread. If the poster just puts up "well, I think you should do x, y or z" then they are not putting any real effort into doing anything, or using their brain, or thinking out of the box on something new. We are looking for hands-on type of folks. If you will take the time to sketch your idea, then you will take the time to use your knife. That's what we're looking for. If you really want to know what impresses us, then see this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=629011

Again, RAT is not so much about making and selling knives as it is about the philosophy of Individualism, self-sufficiency, hard work, honesty and ethics. We build survivors better than we build knives. Knives are actually a means to an end for us. They're simple tools with soul. Hopefully every RAT user will understand that when they use one of our knives. We could care less about the tool itself - it is all about the end result of using the tool that matters. We would rather have 10 customers who understand that premise than a million customers who buy knives just because they're new and pretty.

Much kudos HWPaintballer for the lightning R. not sure if its rat worthy but a nice touch to see on the net :D

I think fivefold's idea captures the spirit of an RC chopper very well. Add a forward lanyard hole and the thumb grooves up top to that jewel and it'd be perfect. I can see it with the finish that the RC5 has on the blade and black slabs; even the cats at BUSSE would get a little nervous! Awesome sez I.
Well done FF!
