The keep the "design thread" uncluttered thread

There are some really talented folks here. I don't envy having to choose a winner, that will be a tough choice!

Great designs have been posted already. Cant wait to see what else comes out! Just a side note. I hope it is not a vote on how good the scetch is......cause then I am out already! Ha Ha!

Kudos to those who submitted designs. This is the first time I worked throught the whole thread. I was blown away by the effort put into them, and the style that came through. Some of those I just wanted to pick up and use, and it is sort of a letdown that they don't exist yet. Very nice.

I vote for the standard RC knives (at least the RC-3 and RC-4) done in D2 steel for people who would rather have the better cutting edge than a stronger prybar or splitting wedge.

Heh, I found RAT through Pelton's site and the HEST. I picked up an Izula last month and regularly covet the RC-3,4,5 with my hand hovering over the add to cart button often. My first thought to the design thread was "what more does RAT need"? I love the rugged no-nonsense simplicity of your knives. I have never been a big knife buff and am sure I never will be, but I have been bit by the RAT bug pretty hard.

With all that said, I added to the design thread despite being more than satisfied with the current line.

Thanks for participating and welcome to the RAT pack!

I think your line of knives is pretty complete, it offers a knife for most every thing related to your companies endevours / mission. You are missing a nice machete, if you made a machete with your knife coating and mikarta handles that would be almost a "NEW" thing.

RTAK is in the works, 10" blade, pretty close to a machete.:)

Love that ratcliff, could be a really great whittler if it were Izula sized.

I can't wait for whatever they come out with :D

I think we all agree that everything RAT puts out is top notch. Everything will catch our eye, whether we want it to or not :)

Holy crap I like that wharncliffe Izula!!! Also the leuku. It seems like a design that would work quite nicely. :)

Just posted one up. A member over on W&SS posted several threads that showed him using a Japanese Hori Hori knife for digging up wild edibles. At a slight sacrifice to scooping ability--and a bit of influence from the old American trowel bayonet--I think I was able to maximize general functionality. What do ya' think?

42 - I think you are right about the ratcliff izula. Also wanted to say I think the trowel knife is a great idea. I think it might be a good addition to a BOB or for camping, you kill two birds with one stone. Saves weight, saves space.

Is anybody else liking JNeiporte's EDC blade design? That would be a great little knife. It'd be about perfect for my needs. Now I need to get some designs going.
