The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

These are my favorite jimping. They seem to be on 21’s in the early 20-teens. I like them better than the sharper/finer version in more recent years. They just feel great on my thumb.

Anyone else have a favorite? I know they have changed numerous times over the years.

I have a OP Umnumzaan that has different jimping which I like more than the newer ones.

Hi forum members, Iam back at BF after a long time, I recently got a brand new small Sebenza 31 with ebony inlays in Magnacut steel, the knife is perfect in all aspects but the only one flaw is the blade opening, its quite hard to open and so far different than my last small Sebbie which was buttery smooth action. The blade pivot is ok, it looks lie is too much pressure from the lockbar to the blade while deploying, or the ceramic ball does not roll, not sure if it has to roll or not on the blade, i did put some f grease on the ball but no changes.
It took probably 6 months of carry and use for my small 31 to break in, it was definitely a labor of love. Now I'm about a year and a half of nearly constant carry and it's as smooth as one could ask for.

The few small 21’s Ive had were harder for me to break in. I only kept one small and it’s a regular with a re grind with just the knife and I wouldn’t feel right selling it.
I guess I’ve been using a CRK long enough that even a new large doesn’t feel like it needs any break in time.

I went through my picture album to see if I had one. Nope, no pics. I’m working nights and will get a couple for you via PM

Got a text alert on my phone earlier today. Checked it and it was about BHQ 31s being back in stock. Opened the link and they were sold out. I believe I officially give up on new CRKs.

Monkey Edge has several different small 31 in stock right now and has had for some time.

It took me several years to finally catch one of the knife art carbon fiber ones in stock. This was back in 2021 I believe. It was worth it though.

I still would like a small knife art car on fiber.

On a side note, when they were in stock I was able to buy the Large Inkosi and Sabenza. Two of my favorites!

WTS set of 7 safe queen TiLocks.

Location at Hong Kong. Price includes EMS from Hong Kong.

Asking for $16500 net to me, PayPal or bank wire transfer accepted.

<Additional information>

This set includes 7 different versions of Tilock, first picture from left to right:
1. Tilock one-off signed by Chris Reeve (Slightly different clip and blade compare to the prototype pictured, got it directly from TNK knives few years ago, used to be Neil’s personal collection. I had emailed Chris Reeve company discussed about this knife, they think it is a hand ground knife and it’s a unicorn. Original email can be provided.)
2. Tilock prototype #18 of 25
3. Tilock with bead blasted handle (This is the version before stonewash handle, I’ve been told by veterans that only about 50 pieces of this kind ever been made)
4. Tilock with stonewash handle
5. Tilock annual graphic “blue steam”
6. Tilock annual graphic “elemental”
7. Tilock annual graphic “in motion”

This set including all the versions of Tilock that ever hit the market, even with a one-off. It cost me a lot of years and energy to put them together. I believe no one had ever been completed this task, and this is the only set in the world that including so much variants. Consider its condition and all the original accessories that comes with, I doubt if anyone can make another set like this in the future. If you want something unique, this is it.

Seems I can only upload 10 pictures here and they’re compressed. I took these pictures with my Nikon camera, so original high resolution and additional pictures can be provided if needed. Not really want to split at the moment as you can imagine how hard you can put them together.

Please contact if you have any questions.
Thank you

WOW!!!!
This is so cool!!!!!

That’s a bummer. Replacement body screws are cheap but I agree, if it has a little play I’d send it in. The bushing or washers are just slightly out of spec.

In a thread someone stated that side to side play is often a problem with the small 31's so I just tested it.
Don’t believe everything you read. Testing for side to side play on any knife puts lateral stress on the pivot. Now, if I’m opening a blade and it moves to one side, then yes, I’d be concerned and try to figure out the problem.

Thank you for showing faith in my intelligence.
Of course I did not use an extreme amount of force to make the blade wiggle, I.E the lateral stress on the pivot you talk about was never an issue.

I'm not bragging...but I have 45 stitches in my right hand alone from 3 events. Two of them blade related.

My left hand has 12 from a knife event, but that one was the result of someone cutting me with a blade years ago.

The first two mentioned above were self inflicted in odd ways...one while polishing an ax head after touching it up...and being distracted by my wife as she came in the door from work. The other when a golok slipped a sheath as I was trying to avoid my dog jumping up on me following some yard work and resharpening the blade. (Didn't want her to get cut, so I did.)

I'd say I'm an old hand at getting stitches, but the pun makes my hand hurt. 🤣

I had a knife slip a sheath. A small sword actually, that a friend had just put a nice fresh edge on. That was almost 50 stitches….twice. Before and after surgery.

ETA- Moved this convo here so it wasn’t cluttering up the pic thread.
