The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

If I may, I want to take a moment for a bit of a humble brag because I am very excited!

I have now finished the middle and end of my Sebenza Collection. It’s been a bunch of buying and selling to find the right pieces but Im so close to done…

When finished I will have:

P
Original-Found
Regular-Found
Classic PJ
Classic Micarta
21 PJ (Insingo)- Found
21 Micarta (Insingo)-Found
25 PJ-Found
25 Micarta-Found
31 PJ (Damascus)- Found
31 Micarta (OD Green) -Found



When I get them all together I’ll take some family photos.

When I get them all together I’ll take some family phots but a few are either CRK or on the way for Double Studs / Spa. This was only going to be a collections of PJs but when I stumbled upon the Micarta 25 I knew that was about to change. At this point I am only missing the P and the Classics.

That list looks like a nicely-rounded collection. We will be waiting to see the finale. Did you find out if you can get double-studs installed on the discontinued models?

I have fantasized about building a similar collection consisting of one-of-each CRK ever made with carbon fiber. Maybe I'll work on that over the next few years. Haven't even made a list yet. I think the number of required knives would scare my banker.

Congratulations on your collection! Enjoy that hunt for ya final pieces! When I completed my collection of Les George, it was satisfying but also bitter sweet.

But thanks to you my focus next year will be an Inkosi collection!😁

I decided I would just leave the pre-21 legacy knives as is. Ill carry all of them but odds are those 4 wont see any real work.
 
You know when I look at my list actually written down, I may have gotten carried away again! Im now second guessing the inclusion of the Micarta versions. After all it was to be only PJ knives which are my favorite by a long shot.

I completely get that and I hope you have it. I don’t begrudge anyone their shelf queens, thats just not the kinda person I am. I just can justify owning stuff thats not used. Im stretching it as it is with the sheer number of users Ive collected to this point.

I feel the same, though I also have different levels of use. For example, my box elder burl small seb is fine for dress up and lighter/package duty (kind of like your mnandi, I guess) while my tanto micarta large inkosi is fine for heavier work. The different levels of use can be as granular as necessary to expand your collection to it's fullest (still user) potential. 😂

Go for it, dude. You sacrificed your knife fancy for ages, clinging for much of the time to one knife only. And all those earier years with just a buck knife? Why, one might say you deserve to expand your crk collection. I think you should keep the whole list, then duplicate it for back up. Might need some lefty versions in case you cut your right thumb!
