Talking about customs..my girlfriend and I attended the annual show for our local knife makers and it confirmed to me how little I like custom made knives. Far too much wood and file work, stabilised this and that, Damascus steel and liner locks that barely engage. Each tables offerings looked much like the next. My girlfriend summed it up by saying it looked like a bunch of collectible curio kitsch. She far prefers the funky functional aesthetics of my Spyderco's. I know we have same great makers in this country doing innovative things with bearings and flippers but what I saw today left me kinda cold.
On a more positive note the show was really well supported, which is great. Obviously not everyone is as turned off by customs as what I am.

Meh, it's alright. But I feel like it would imply that the knives aren't sharp...... We need something specifying that we won't sharpEN them.

Heavens no! 11yo had a Kershaw Antelope Hunter and the 13yo had the red handled Mora Utility. They both have a few tiny tiny chips in them but not bad.Very cool. So what did you supply them with?

Hey, does anyone know who made a modern folder with I think a cleaver style blade with a fuller (I believe that is the correct term)?
I think the handles were just metal without any micarta, g10, etc.
They must have deleted the older threads in the custom folder for sale thread.
It is NOT a Debt Collector or Griffon.
I believe you're thinking of the ADV Butcher. Sweet looking knife, but the maker has a pretty bad rep around here. It's a shame, I'd have bought one months ago if he didn't treat his customers like dirt.
