The Knife Life (Minor Topics and Random Stuff Thread)

It had to grow on me too. The looks completely underwhelmed me, but the wirst part was it wasn't anywhere near as smooth as I was expecting. It wasn't until somewhere around the 2 week mark that I noiced it had really broken in. It was like someone just flipped a switch. I was hooked on the knife from that point on. The only time another knife gets more pocket time is when its brand new, but inevitably the sebenza slowly takes back its rightful position in my pocket until the next flavor of the month shows up. Its wierd though, I have no desire what so ever to get any other crk. The plain 21 is about as close to perfect as I think I'll ever find.
Of course that doesn't stop me from looking.

I am in on the GAW but if Antdog wants to trade me his chance on the ZT for the custom Id take it...

Ummmm, don't believe so. Sorry, brother!

I'm sending some virtual good luck your way!

Went Christmas tree shopping. Small seb came in handy cutting those white strings they use to wrap the trees. It felt good to get this thing dirty for the first time (I mean actually dirty. By the end it was covered in sap and mud)

Haha that's awesome, man! ^^

Good to know Sebs aren't just for looks ;)

I'm loving my ZT 0770, guys. But I haven't been paying too much attention to my BFC Stag Jack. I think I need to throw it in my change pocket tonight.

Thanks man. It's funny, the seb is the only folder that I actually feel comfortable using hard in dirty jobs. I think it's cuz I'm not afraid of getting gunk inside and having to void any warranty just to get it out. After using it today, I came home and took it apart, cleaned everything, regreased the key spots, and popped the two screws back it to reassemble.
And it was right back to being perfect. No play, no centering issues, smooth as silk. Awesome

Of course it also needed a good sharpening after all the contact with the mud and crap. But even that was easy. Everything on a CRK is user friendly. I love it:thumbup:

I believe it, man. It didn't take long for me to figure out the kind of rep CRKs have.

One day I'll have to take the plunge. Till then I'll sit back and enjoy your pics haha.

Man, you could carry both those knives and be set for life. Great combo.

Good to see you using that Sebenza Krissig12. Strong for a small knife, right?

The small seb is the only knife I own that conjures up the word "companion". It's just so personal and perfect in every way, and you feel OBlIGATED to use the crap out of it and carry it wherever you go in life:thumbup:

Welcome, good luck with the inevitable sales of other knives!!!

You know what? I totally agree with you!

I noticed that right away, awesome looking screws and knife.

Thanks a lot, man! The screws really added some class and pop to this knife, so I'm enjoying carrying it even more.

Lol word!

Scales should be delivered today. Can't wait to see them!

This is one of the pics keyman's sent me......

Well today has been pretty cool. My reate came in. Unfortunately it'll have to stay under the tree until christmas. But the best part of the day was finding this rifle when I was cleaning out a shed. It's a Carcano calvary carbine rifle from 1940.-ish. I talked to a neigbor who said that its pretty much worthless, seeing that it's locked up and covered in rust. It is still pretty cool. I may see how much it will cost to restore. It is actualy the same style used to kill Kenedy. I figured I would throw the sebenza in there for the heck of it. I've been carrying it a lot lately.

Those old rifles are hard to kill, especially past usable condition, tolerances werent so tight back then. Spray it down with wd40 or whatever, kick the bolt open and clean the hell out of it. I have or know people who have older rifles that looked worse (mines a mosin, pops has a Egyptian mauser, other buddy has a 1914 Springfield) we all found at farm sales one time or another.

Sweet! Looks great. You gonna keep it and rotate it with your sebbie?
