The Knife Life (Minor Topics and Random Stuff Thread)

Hahaha. All my money is caught up in Erinas ring, my car, and upgrading my ano rig! Good to hear from ya John!

All good! I'll do better about keeping in touch, brother. You're just too cool to talk to sometimes jk jk

Best of luck with everything you're into right now.

Looking good! Nothing new here. Anodizing again, but that's it. Still no new knives.

Good to see you're staying strong! Nothing new for me either. I'm still convinced this cf stabby will be the last Edc folder I ever buy.

Speaking of cf stabby, I just touched it up today. It was getting a little "meh", so I busted out the sharpmaker and gave it maybe five passes on either side using the white stones, and it's back to screaming sharp. You were right about using very little pressure. This time I tried using only the weight of the blade and it worked much better than it usually does.

Im trying to put off doing a full resharpening for as long as I can, because I can't stand the thought of loosing as much steel on this one as I did on my plain jane

That's gonna be a nice knife for your Dad Krissig! I'm glad to see you're trying to retain some steel on CF Stabby.

Thanks bro.

It's funny, I haven't even told him about it yet and his birthdays already long since past. It was on the 16th....

Hopefully the shipping doesn't take too long, or I'll start considering saving it till fathers day:o:D

Looking good krissig.
And how am I doing? Flipping awsome! I got this the other day

It's my first gun, and I'm loving it. I've never been much of a gun guy, but I got a deal I couldn't pass up.
And this fantoni is just getting smoother and smoother. I just couldn't be happier with this thing.

Speaking of high school, did you ever have one of those days where you reached into your pocket to find your knife there? I do and then getting that overwhelming wave of OH S***! Of course this wasn't to terribly long(10 years give or take) so I got to experience all that joyous post 911/ Columbine crazeyness.

Did that once, except it was a cheap folder in a belt pouch, noticed right before class, quickly pulled it off my belt and rushed it to my locker...

I've had my benchmade 275 adamas for 2 years now. I was starting to not see the point in owning it, until I realized I was babying it. One week later I've been cutting against bone as well as cutting worn out muddy tie straps. Needless to say, the 275 is redeeming itself, and surpassing my expectations :D now to fix the flattened edge the tie straps made..... (update) the edge fixed up surprisingly easily with a 600 grit stone and a lansky super sapphire, now for more abuse :D

Oh and it gets even better.

The purple pin represents one of the colleges I'm thinking of going to......

If that ain't a sign......:D

Had a great day today. I popped into that Recon 1 store in the afternoon and oh boy.......

They've got some awesome stuff. Not quite as large as I'd hoped for, but a pretty wide variety of knives. They had CRKs, hinderers, spydies, BMs, ZTs, Stiders, a bunch of customs, assorted fixed blades, and a nice selection of flashlights. I handled a wharnie hinderer 3 inch xm18, and I liked it but it definately wasn't the best flipper. So I guess that rumor is confirmed;)

Also asked about the 0562cf, and the guy said that they were out of stock like most places at the moment. Checked out a fancy looking SNG, but didn't really like it much. Held a large DT bocote inlay sebbie, and man that thing is large! Much more so than I expected.

Overall, I loved the place. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, and their selection was great. Great knife shop:thumbup:

But it's funny. Have any of you guys felt a little weird walking into a store full of people who also like knives? You'd think I'd feel at home, but strangely enough I didn't at first. It's almost like I wasnt sure how much detail to go into and how much nerdiness to exhibit. I didn't know if they actually cared as much about them as I do. It's stupid, I know. Obviously they care about knives and know a crap ton about them.........but still. Maybe they don't care THAT much, ya know? I think I'm just a little insecure with my knifiness:D

But after a little while I got more comfortable and it was a great time. Highly recommend them.

I definitely envy you. I did however find a gun shop near by that had a few emersons, so I'll be heading back there if the emerson bug returns. Gun shops are still my only options.

Did you ever go to that place in Savannah that sells CRK?
