Well i went and built the 2 knives i wanted from the custom shppe,went to the checkout and proceeded to finish my order,shipping is $30 dollars for one knife???????/I never paid anything for shipping before,and i'm not sure how one knife is $30 dollars ,or 5 knives is still #30 dollars?I won't be ordering any knife at a $30 dollar shipping fee,i have sent a 110 to Idaho before ,it costs 7 dollars .No customs for me.

hummmm this is odd...
any one else have shiping that was high?
rember shiping is higher also from fule surcharges...
look for the post office to go up also...
better buy thoes forever stamps while ya can!;)
 
I am pretty sure that free shipping does not include Nova Scotia. $30 seems a bit high but I don't ship out of the country.

Mine was the standard shipping......free priority mail.

Your cost probably has to do with being in Canada.....seems we've heard they have a lot of trouble shipping to Canada.

I also notice that you are a "registered user" and not a member of the forum.

The offer of 15 percent off is good only to members of the forum, I hope you read that part of the message.

The offer is good to bladeFORUM members,of which i am,it said nothing about being a paid member,all you need is your username and 15% discount is yours.I can't understand $30 in shipping when it says free shipping on the site,it should specify U.S.A only if thats the case.

If you're not at least a "basic member," you're not a member.....you're a "registered user."

Well I am not going to be ordering any customs by 12:00 today so it really makes no difference to me. I do feel that the spirit of Vissy's message was directed to anyone that had been following the pricing problems since the custom shop website re-opened. Since he is a new poster himself I don't believe he is concerned about the intricacies of registered user versus basic member. Buck knives has no stake in Bladeforums. Why would they care if Buck customers and supporters are paying members or not. Oh well. That's my 2 cents.
 
I fully agree about the spirit of the the message.

It couldn't hurt for folks to check before buying, though.

The last thing we need is more misunderstandings and angry people.

Yes, the shipping charge to Canada is in fact thirty dollars. The fee went up ten dollars from the former twenty dollars. Keep in mind that the thirty bucks includes insurance and brokerage fees, as well as delivery right to your door via FedEx.

I admit that I choked when I saw the increase, but when you consider how the price of gas has gone up, the increase becomes more understandable. I have had four Customs shipped via FedEx before and I found FedEx to be both fast and dependable.

Do I like the increase? Heck no! Will I stop buying Custom 110s'? Heck no!
 
IMH even with the price increases, the Buck Customs seem to be an incredible bargain!:eek::cool::thumbup::D
