Who is this man in the blue plaid shirt, holding that SKUNK TC Sawyer Barlow? Has anyone really seen this man?. I suppose the pictures are proof, but, I wonder?

LOOK !!! There he is again and this time talking to a bunch of nice looking folks. I have heard people on this forum suggest that he could be Santa and they wonder if he exists, other than pictures. They speak of his generosity and his wonderful collection of knives, as well as being a walking knives history book. ;)

All of us that frequent this forum know him as Charlie or by his handle, Waynorth. Hmmm.:eek:

Have I discovered that his handle is indeed the secret of who he REALLY is? Hmmm. I have never seen this man in person. Does he REALLY exist or could it be he is really someone else and disguises himself as Charlie Campagna or has a double that calls himself Charlie Campagna?

I have long ago decided that Santa was indeed a myth and made for children.

I needed to investigate my theory and I set out Googling and looking for clues and such and lookie what I ran across!!!

WAY NORTH. Really? I have indeed figured it out! WAY North is NORTH POLE!!!

So - all these years I have been wrong - the proof was found today.:thumbup::thumbup::)

You see that scroll he is reading - labeled what??!!

Do you notice that resemblance which I have noticed?

Now before you say this is all a bunch of foolishness - just some more Primble antics - funnin' again - hey where's the cartoons and such, let me offer PROOF !!

Last week, I get an email through Blade Forums and here is the message:
This is the message:

Mr. Primble,
which TC Barlows are missing from your collection??
Charlie

Well, I send this most mysterious man a link to photos of my Charlow Collection and tell him that is the ones I have.

I believe it was a day or two later, another email from Waynorth - (get it? WAY NORTH!!)

It said:
A list would help.
CC

So last Sunday, I send him my WISH LIST (get it?? - who ALWAYS wants a wish list?) I knew this man has the keys to Charlow land, but, honestly, I did not have much hope. I did indicate that I would gladly purchase any of the old long pull knives that I could find.

So, a day or so later I get another email saying he needs my address and is going to send me a couple things to inspect.

And yesterday a PM that says "Watch your mailbox - I sent you a box of shrapnel."

Well the final proof arrived in my mailbox today and it was in that familiar red, white, and blue USPS box we all see fairly often.

It had Campagna and a United States return address!

Well - I happen to KNOW that Charlie Campagna lives in CANADA!!! How can he live in two places at once!!??:confused:

I carefully opened the taped up box - I am quite sure that box would have survived a nuclear explosion.

and I found three TC Sawyer Barlow tubes. I recalled him saying a couple.

I opened them all and here were the contents:

Do you believe me now? Still doubtin' Santa are you?

All grail TC Barlows! A rust red saw-cut spearpoint with pen behind main blade, another pen behind main blade Ebony, and a PPP Antique Yellow saw-cut with spear point. Oh my goodness - stunned I reckon!!!

After I almost passed out and finally recovered from the shock and awe of it all, I inspected the box and found nothing else, not a word, not a clue.

I jumped on Blade Forums and send him a PM and tell him they all met my approval and I would be interested in purchasing all three.

I later get a response that I can purchase the two and one is a GIFT.

I will tell you all that I would have been so grateful at just being given the chance to purchase those three old models, but, gift one too!!:thumbup:

I had a little more contact with Mr. WAY NORTH later today and he tries to get me to believe he tried to jump on a ferry back to Canada and almost missed it.

Well - Primble wasn't born yesterday - he don't believe in fairy tells - you can't pull the wool down over my eyes MR. WAY NORTH POLE!!!

I say rubbish to that attempted cover up and that ridiculous story of almost missing a ferry back to Canada. I KNOW YOU GOT IN THAT SLEIGH - MR. WAY NORTH!!

and I can tell all of you that Santa is indeed alive and well.:thumbup::)

I thank you so very much - Mr. Claus!! - I know who you really are now and I will always cherish all three of the TC Barlows !!:)

Great story and great knives. Thanks for sharing. Do you have a favorite of the three?

Just plain awesome.

Those are indeed absolute grails, and are now 100X more special because of the circumstances.

Good stuff right here on this little sub-forum.

I also received two (2) packages this week from Charlie....I am still stunned at the contents. I will post pictures later but they will not be as good a Primble's....Christmas did come early in Okinawa.

Charlie is simply a awesome person, an extremely generous one at that.
I personally owe Charlie many thanks, and I do mean many, (I am trying to find few words that have much impact - as I really do feel that people roll their eyes when I try to express my thanks to this man ).

If anyone in Traditionals feels that they havent had anything to do with Charlie, or possibly dont owe him thanks?- they are indeed mistaken, as he has helped them in such fantastic ways because of his contribution to the knife world.

Charlie's passion, his knowledge that he is so willing to share, his SFO knives that he has almost by himself re-ignited the genuine quality and true traditional lost styles of knife back into the knife world for us to enjoy, we are all very lucky to have Charlie here.

In my opinion one of the higher level Collectors of some of the best knives I have laid eyes on - I believe there is NO exaggeration in what I say here, yet he is willing to open his doors up to us and shares his collection - by doing this he teaches us by exposing what most collectors keep very close to their chest - he lets us view what are honestly are true treasures of yours and my passion, I think this is amazing for anyone to do one thing let alone all these combined, still - with all this - he is incredibly generous by his gifting of ( again in my opinion ) some of the best production knives that are now for obvious reasons - very hard to get knives - he literally gives them away.

I think and I am not too sure if there is some sort of " hall of fame " type of thing in the knife world, but if ever I would be asked just who' name should be inducted?- it would be Charlie.

Lovely Lovely knives Primble - your acts of extreme generosity have been recognised by someone great in the knife world, what an honour! and thank you for sharing.

I apologise to Charlie, as if my suspicions are correct, you would feel uncomfortable in reading this being the humble type of person that you are, but we all do owe you many thanks,

Very nice. Those knives are next to impossible to find.
So i guess he must be real :D, and a great person to deal with.
Congrats on your new knives Primble

That single spear is fantastic! Could you show your TC barlow collection here?

I haven't had much to do with Charlie, other than asking a few questions and buying a great knife.

he's obviously a very important part of this forum, and it would be a lot poorer without him. As with a lot of other regular participants who make this forums the greatest place on the world wide web.

Thank you Charlie for the wisdom and knives you share with us!

EPIC Story and after the kind of day I had.....I really needed to read that. Dreams Do Come True. Good night BFC. :-)

Duncan I think you said precisely the way we all feel about Charlie and I for one thank you sir.

Primble my friend, it looks like Christmas arrived early for you. Thanks for sharing, that is awesome!

Another terrific example of the type of folks that dwell here in the Traditional forum. Outstanding!

Joe

It must feel fantastic to have such generous friends, and to be thought so much of to receive such a generous gift. I have been humbled many times by the generous acts I have witnessed on this forum. I am convinced that Santa is real. I received a package from him a few months ago, tho he had a California return address. Thanks Santa, where ever you are.

Jim

A few more of my Charlows, which other members helped me acquire. I have thanked all of them before, but, would like to say thank you, once again, to the helpful:

I thank you again - Paul, Barry, Duane, and Evan for helping me along the way. And more help from other members on my Primble collection and Old Knife collection - Stephen, Duncan, and Mark!

What a place this BF place is!!!:thumbup::)

What a place this Bladeforums is! What a guy that Ole Saint Nail Nick. Great looking knives!

The pieces of the puzzle sure seem to fit together.
I bet if Charlie was asked directly about the similarities, he would change the conversation to knives.
Nice Try, Santa.

Primble,
GREAT PHOTOS, THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

Indeed!!!:D and who else would change the subject - if asked - think about that! ;)

My first four, where I was stuck for quite a while:

What a kind and and generous act on Charlies part. Charlie, You are a true gentleman and a fantastic ambassador for the knife collecting universe! It was done at great risk of his true identity being discovered, but maybe he didn't realize someone was on to him.
Nice knives Primble Noir, and great detective work!

I hereby stand and attest to the existence of Santa, err, Charlie. I even scored a little loot from him myself last month.

Yes folks, he is real, and he is the best.

That is an amazing gesture on Charlie's part. The generosity in this place is just awesome.
